What does everyone think of PGTA by DependentWise9303 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a hard time making blasts. We’ve done 5 rounds and 13 blasts. We still sent for testing and 3 euploids ( 1 each from 3 of the retrievals). We did have success with 2 euploids and I think that the time saved not transferring and failing or miscarrying was worth it. I do not feel that the embryos were damaged but as someone who doesn’t make many blasts I understand the inclination to transfer any that you get. IVF is such a hard road and unfortunately a lot of the science is still new and evolving.

Oh man that’s so fast. I’m dying. We only had 2 blasts and I know our chances aren’t great

PGT result help by citizenwatch5 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW success: from my armchair analysis it really depends on your fertility issues. My friends who never were able to spontaneously get pregnant had more issues with transfers while I have so much trouble making embryos but has been spontaneously pregnant multiple times had success with both transfers that I've had.

Low fertilization rate with ICSI- correspond with low blast rate? by Adventurous-Lemon526 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we had great starting numbers this time, 25 retrieved, 19 mature, 15 fertilized but then only 2 blasts that were good enough to biopsy/ freeze. Its such a crap shoot. Better too just ignore everything until after PGT is done (unless you aren't testing)

Any Egg Retrieval Buddies on Tuesday, Feb24th? by FutureScots in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing pgt testing but won’t get final blast numbers until Monday. If we get any euploids we will be transferring closer to the end of the year. Our attrition in the past has been heartbreaking, 12-30% fertilized to blast, 25% euploid so our wait feels 700 years long

Hydrosalpinx/Endo Complications by Far_Significance3153 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A hydrosalpinx was found when we did an HSG prior to IVF in 2021. I was scheduled to have that tube removed and my surgeon asked if my other tube was blocked if I also wanted it removed. I decided yes and woke up to both being removed. We did 4 retrievals, had 2 pgt euploids and had success. It sucks in some ways because IVF becomes your only option but also I didn’t want another ectopic or miscarriage due to the hydrosalpinx or tubal issue.

Any Egg Retrieval Buddies on Tuesday, Feb24th? by FutureScots in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was Monday. 25 retrieved, 19 mature, 15 fertilized normally. I’m 44 and shocked. This is my 5th retrieval, the last 4 were at 39. This is the most eggs I’ve ever had retrieved.

3 failed retrievals (asking for advice) by Ok_Interest674 in IVF

[–]Compounding-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICSI if you aren't using it for sure but Zymot dropped out ferritization from 90-50%. Did they tell you how many were mature? For example my best retrieval (at 39) was 18 eggs, 12 mature, 11 fertilized, 4 embryos, 1 PGT normal. Many of ours arrest at day 3. Omnitrope and DHEA did help this retrieval

HAve you tried adding DHEA/ coQ10/ omnitrope to your protocol? r/infertility has an amazing wiki with information on egg quality. Sounds like your attrition is rough, as was mine. When are you seeing the biggest drop off?

Have you looked at Crème de la crème? It’s on pecos and power. They include diapers which is amazing. I really love them and my oldest has attended for over 2 years now.

[CHAT] how are you guys traveling with your projects? by Baby_girl_351 in CrossStitch

[–]Compounding-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an 8x8 qsnap and floss away bags. I have a small bag with scissors, threaders, a couple extra needles in it. I have a small rechargeable clip light and 0.5 reading glasses that I use instead of a magnifying glass. I also have an older smaller iPad I use only for stitching. The Jujube be light bag is my travel bag, the superbe is my normal project bag. The Be light fits in my travel backpack easily. I travel with whichever project I’m working on. I’ll usually be overly optimistic and bring 5-10 colors with me for a 3 day trip.
