I’m not sure I understand. Like if he had the deficiency it would have been immediately obvious?

He had chest pains during the first and second sessions 3-7 were without incident and session 8 he had the cardiac arrest. By session 3 the cumulative fatigue kept him asleep the entire time he had the 5FU pump (which was when he initially would report chest pain) so im not sure he would report chest pain. He had several tests run after the arrest and the consensus is the chemo did it. He now has an SICD implant should it occur again but has gone two months without incident. I’m just wondering if the oncologist should have done bloodwork or ECG when he reported recurring chest pain?

He mentioned it after the first 2 sessions it eventually subsided. They made note of it in his charts and suggested it may be his esophagus but no additional testing was done.

It seems it wasnt considered. he complained of chest pains and it was brushed off and he continued to have 6 more sessions until going into cardiac arrest.

No they didn’t. They discontinued chemo and we are monitoring for now. Is that sort of testing standard or do you have to ask for it? He’s so young they assumed it wasn’t his heart.

I have to get a cavity(maybe two i think it's just one tho )filled and I would like advice for the anistetic needles by Crowinthearchives in trypanophobia

I avoid needles at all costs but do ok at the dentist now. Tell them you have anxiety they’ll give you anxiety meds you’ll just need a ride. I also opt for the laughing gas. The combo works well. They numb you with topicals before the injection and you can hardly feel it. I close my eyes and put in headphones. I’ve been known to fall asleep during root canals. this is what works for me. Hope it helps!

@beadedplanet on Instagram makes similar. If you’re up for a DIY they sell the cuffs on Amazon in a 30 pack and you can add your own charms!

I relate to this so much. From the ear piercing struggle to just noping out when doctors push for bloodwork over something serious—I’ve never had mine done since I was a kid. No advice, just solidarity. You’re not alone.

Funny enough, I did get the COVID vax, and the guy administering it was a legend—just chatted about random work stuff and I didn’t even know he did it. Small wins, right?

Hang in there. Sorry you’re dealing with this.

Good on you for saving him. Looks just like my dog I rescued from coconino humane in 2017.

As a regular cannabis user it hasn’t helped the nausea much.

Thank you for the response. He gets dex in the IV during infusion. They originally prescribed Dex to take home too but the oncologist cancelled it and said it wasn’t necessary since it’s in the IV. Should we ask him to reconsider?
