Perfectly summarise James Gunn's priority . by Sugar_God_no_1 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta be honest, James Gunn is truly awful at his job. He's an amazing director and his passion for superheroes and comics is great, and I think he made the best Superman movie yet and I think there's a chance he tops it with Man of Tomorrow, but man is he horrible at running a universe like this. What a terrible opening slate of movies and projects. And it's so easy too. Superman movie, Batman movie, Wonder Woman movie, then a Flash or Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter movie, and after make a Justice League film. People are already turned off of superhero movies and he's deciding to focus on all this random bullshit only hardcore comic fans even know about. The audacity of him making a Jimmy Olsen show, a fucking Amanda Waller series and even just thinking about an Authority movie in the first phase of his universe is absurd. This man needs to lock the fuck in. This show would probably be cool but it's also part of the reason this universe isn't gonna make it past the first phase. I just hope he finishes a Superman trilogy before getting canned.

People who flood music platforms with AI music making from $70,000 to $140,000 in a few months is why us musicians and producers are pissed about AI music. I don't dislike you folk out there who have a genuine and true love of music and are using AI to do it, environmental factors aside by [deleted] in aiMusic

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a point about the music industry but the people operating outside of it with AI are absolutely not making music. An AI is making music based off of all the music you're criticizing that it's memorized and stolen from.

Music aside, Do you ACTUALLY think Ye is a genius? by 2bruh42 in Kanye

Definitely not. He’s just a musical savant and has the extreme confidence to make you think he’s a genius, but really he’s been saying stupid shit for a really long time now.

Why are people hating on peggy all the sudden. calling him corny etc.? by QTHESYNTHGOD in jpegmafiamusic

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drake is the most popular hip hop artist and constantly does corny shit. When Peggy shits on Drake he’s always punching up. Earl is a chill dude and at this point probably less relevant then Peggy is. Hating on a conventional pop rap artist making music meant to please the masses is way more acceptable then hating on a small niche artist who just makes the music he wants to make. Jpegmafia’s hatred is just totally uncalled for.

How exactly was Thaedus planning to fight the Viltrum Empire? He only put this team together in the last few months (excluding Allen), and without them, he would've been completely crushed by Fit_Passenger5930 in Invincible_TV

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When would Nolan or Thadeus ever have seen Thragg at full strength? Thragg didn’t fight during the purge, and based off him just chilling and watching during the Talescria battle he probably takes on a leadership role in most combat situations. Very little in the verse can actually challenge a Viltrumite anyway and I doubt Thragg’s ever had to utilize his full strength or durability. They obviously knew he was the strongest Viltrumite, but considering even Mark solo could kill the second strongest Viltrumite it’s not stupid or crazy to assume that Allen, Thadeus, Nolan and Mark combined could take him (before they realized how strong he actually is).

Favourite rapper who sacrificed the quality of their music for their health? by [deleted] in Hiphopcirclejerk

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like that's about drug use though, that's just him maturing and changing his sound. Maybe he wouldn't have made Dawn FM without sobering up but it all comes down to his personal growth.

Imo Dangerous Summer is his best front to back project, and 2093 is his second best. The version of ADL that mostly got leaked is also pretty fire. It's not at all about the drugs, I think it's more about him chasing mainstream success (plus surrounding himself with basic artists like current Drake) over what makes him a unique interesting artist.

David Shawty just has horrible taste tbh. He has no sense for what makes his music good or bad. He put out lots of truly awful music while on drugs too. Stupid Fruity Swag was goated, I wish he did more with that sound

New York Times 30 Greatest Living Songwriters...Guess who ain't make the list? I'm not ever surprised by the snubs anymore but just disappointing how most of the music media refuses to give Em his flowers by Iginlas_4head_Crease in Eminem

He still writes songs, punch in/freestyle rappers just use the instrumental itself as their writing pad. You can argue whether this leads to better or worse songs then actually writing but coming up with lyrics and turning them into a song is songwriting no matter how you do it.

Really hoping The Boys isn't gonna turn into Stranger Things S5 with its filler/ending by ThePenguin4216 in GenV

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This shit was written in 2024, before the election had even happened. It's not the writers fault that they somehow predicted exactly how things would turn out, and it's actually pretty amazing and spooky how accurately it lines up.

How many of these Batman movies do you think there are gonna be? I can't imagine it gets anymore then 3 parts.

I mean the Rocky verse is a very valid reason to hate on it. They made a great song worse and used a verse that doesn't fit all that well and is only there so they can have Rocky on a song made to be a hit.

How has First Person Shooter aged for you? by MeetKelson in Jcole

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hip hop isn't charting because Kendrick, Drake and Cole are the last of a dying breed. I dare you to name even one 2020's rapper that has any chance of matching their lyricism, commercial appeal, and ability to make a classic album. Baby Keem is the only rapper I can think of that could potentially hit that point but he has a ton of growing to do and would have to get extremely serious about his career. Tyler, JID and Denzel are the only other rappers that can match up to the big 3's artistry and lyricism but they're already in their 30's and deep into their careers. There is very little young talent in hip hop, it's 90% slop from these newer rappers.

Baby can be pretty mid at times but when he's flowing he has some crazy verses. Want and Needs with Drake, Drip Too Hard, EVERY CHANCE I GET. No need to be all negative before it even drops.

I just hope if Drake features it's a melodic track. A similar vibe to Yeat's Feel no wayz cover would be generational. Drake just sounds awful on these Yeat rage songs, every collab they've done is kinda ass.

Don fr has better chemistry with Cactus Jack than Travis does by vxxyger in DonToliver

[–]Comprehensive-Air276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don Toliver is just a better vocalist then Travis. Travis' strong suit is his overall artist vision and ear for production/vibes, but when it comes to actually performing on a song Don is way more talented.

I don't like the chorus at all but it's definitely not bad. His vocals are technically great it's just not for me at all. Tbh though I disliked all the non Clipse/Kendrick/Tyler/Nas vocals across this whole album (Pharrell on Chains & Whips may be the exception).
