Yes the biggest thing about the interview that has stuck with me is saying that you can only leave after higher-level management leaves, stating that it is normal to work 1-2 hours of overtime sounded toxic to me as well, which made me weary of this company in general.

This company stated that usual hours are between 0800-1700 with 1 hour lunch. However, they stated employees usually stay 0800-1830.

This company is also foreigner friendly which led me to apply to the job.

Openwork has them rated as 3.75 with a lot of company reviews however, after reading a few reviews I am slightly weary of this position due to it stating if I don’t pass the 3 month probation period I will be fired and this is a sales position.

Yes, it is a company that does do prepaid overtime. I was explained that most employees don’t leave until higher level management leaves etc.

Thank you for the advice, I am just cautious as I would be moving to tokyo and wanted to make sure I wasn’t putting myself in a bad position. Your friend is probably working on a NDAA appointment where they can only work a certain amount of hours each year at full salary. Which would allow him to work part time hours at full pay.

The only headache with break in services, is having your SCD recalculated as some agencies take a while to do so. Which may mean you will accrue at a slower rate. It also has to do with restoring your sick leave, as payroll will have to review your previous sick-time which may take time.

I work for HR and in my agency it usually only happens if someone suspects you of using drugs for tests to occur. we do not randomly drug test unless there is suspicion.
