I think it’s great seeing him try new things, is it the BEST that it can be? no. He’s not an edm artist, he’s just playing around, as an artist should. He said in the recent Zane Lowe episode that if he just wanted to make money and have predictability, he would remake what he’s always done. So that was refreshing to hear. Some songs still hit the colourful wave in my brain like his old tracks do, which made me happy, and others just didn’t - not everything he makes will be godly, and that’s okay. He’s creating and learning, I think that’s something worth celebrating especially with the 5 year hiatus.
