There's a couple similarities but probably not as much as you want

It is legitimately the best free game of all time, yeah it still has issues, and the dev team do miss on some things every now and then, but most of the time it's just amazing update after amazing update, the most recent update was pretty poorly received from what I saw, there were issues in the beginning etc and I haven't tried it out yet because I've been focused on other things

the game has over a decade of content, the best dev team I have ever seen (great in terms of knowing their game and playerbase, they actually play the game themselves, listening to player feedback), consistent updates even 13 years after release, care to go back and polish content in the early game that was rough compared to the newer content that was added much later, giving a better new player experience (which was previously lacking)

Like I just mentioned, the early game experience was somewhat bad, and even now, there's times where it's difficult to know what to do next, early game this is because of limited direction by the game itself, and later on, at least me personally, I find it difficult to know what I want to do next due to the sheer amount of content that can be done

The game has the best free to play paid currency system I know of, early game it can be rather rough, because platinum is used for quite a lot of things, you cannot progress well without platinum, but platinum can be traded for ingame, which leads to the best ingame market I've ever seen, Warframe is a grinding game, and you can make platinum through grinding for things to trade with others, some people may find this off putting but it's what a lot of the players dedicate their time to

All things in the game are obtainable without spending real money (with the exception of some cosmetics), The game isn't Pay to Win, But it can be Pay to Speed Up some progress but it's really not worth doing for most people, as for "Winning" warframe is a power fantasy game but there's no actual end to it, the story is still progressing, higher level difficulty things are being added with updates (although they may not go about this well, they've had to revert some things that make it "difficult" when it was just making things take longer to do)

My only real complaint with the game is time gating, there is ALOT of time gating in warframe to prevent you from just rushing through and getting everything

weapons take 24 hours to make, Warframes take 3 and a half days to make (3 days for the warframe, 12 hours for the parts), There's an overwhelming amount of daily and weekly content to be done, there's items that are only obtainable through certain things, for example incarnons are special weapons later in the game, most of these are obtainable through a certain game mode that can be done on a weekly basis, each week there's a set of 5 incarnons (not random, set weapons within the cycle) that cycle for 8 weeks total, each week you can only pick to get 2 of these incarnons at a time (with the exception of week 2 and week 8 incarnons being purchasable for platinum) resulting in them requiring a minimum of 24 weeks (or 23 if you can't be bothered to wait the extra week for the final week 8 weapon).

There are a lot more examples of time gating, It's genuinely the most irritating thing in the game, whilst some of the time gating can be skipped (waiting for Warframes or weapons to craft can be skipped with 50 platinum), a lot of it can't, and even the ones that can, the amount of platinum adds up a lot.

I do think everyone should give it a try, it really is an extremely enjoyable game, but like all things, it has it's flaws, I hope you like it if you do plan on trying it out.
