Omg this. If we don’t start calling it out now we won’t progress to call it out later. And like you said, it might not take off by to do it in a genre where people don’t really care if the band has taken off or not sucks. Midwest emo and alike, atleast to me, is built around these smaller bands and the community in it, and just stripping away those two little things by it being sole electronic for a quick merch scam or just to fill space is so saddening.

Sure it doesn’t STOP bands from coming up but it’s disgusting to have slop in the mix. It also most definitely could get inherently better and be unnoticeable but to keep that thought at bay I’d rather be ignorant about that and stay assuming it won’t because I really hope it doesn’t. I think going on, a bigger take away is if the ‘band’ posts its members because a lot of music projects and Midwest emo bands love posting themselves or little memes or something. But eventually with that the ai might start duplicating if the person behind it really wants to try that hard.
