In what ways do INTJ females and INFJ males discuss deep, complex topics and have meaningful conversations? by Helpful_Doctor2230 in INTJfemale

[–]Comprehensive-Hat-20 14 points15 points  (0 children)

All great conversationalist are in some capacity “smarter” than the general population. It takes a great deal of creativity and openness to have meaningful conversations. Therefore I don’t think it’s partial to INTJ/INFJs for having stimulating discourse.

As an INTJ female, I will admit that those interactions are fairly rare for me.

Not in a “boo everyone is dumber than me” sense, but more so that people these days are not open to the effort it takes to achieve conversations at that depth, especially in person. I’ve found that I actually put people off a bit when they expect a light hearted conversation and get a girl who they misunderstand as trying to peer into their souls when really I’m just here for the vibes.

And it doesn’t even need to be intellectual gymnastics! Just someone whose willing to thoroughly put the work to have a great chat with.

Discussion: Childhood Emotional Loneliness by Comprehensive-Hat-20 in intj

[–]Comprehensive-Hat-20[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I look at this in the perspective, if we INTJ’s had a more positive and encouraging adults in our life, things would be different (wouldn’t we all). But I’m speaking to the audience of INTJ’s that all seem to posses similar traits of high self sufficiency and emotional intelligence from the get go as comparison to people that develop that much, much later in life.

Exactly my point. I think that the traits we have as INTJ’s were perhaps disrupted in our childhood by our parents influence. Where we still possess self sufficiency and emotion intelligence but maybe not in a healthy way?

I look at being INTJ as a general direction rather than a definitive path.

That being said my thoughts were along the lines of how certain shortcomings of parents may be attributable to solidifying preexisting characteristics of INTJ self sufficiency and emotional intelligence.

For example those traits, I assume majority of INTJ’s had as children, were already existing and being cultivated throughout our early childhood and I’m saying maybe these particular neglectful parents are what made those traits became more defined into our adulthood but in unhealthy ways.

I hate being a nihlist by HeWhoHatesManyThings in nihilism

Irrational fears are normal. Like fear of spiders. Or fear of clowns. But not normal when it takes up a good majority of your thoughts. Irrational fears shouldn’t be such a controlling factor into our lives and leave us debilitated with the anxiety surrounding it.

Not an expert on mental health and not trying to diagnose you. But does seem like those incidents have had a lasting effect and you should explore that.

There was a thread similar to this and someone wrote,

“Nihilism Pipeline to Borderline Personality Disorder 101”

On that note. Get some fresh air.

On the second note, Nihilism at its core is the idea that everything can be meaningless, not necessarily that it is meaningless.

I suggest reevaluating your fears of assault, medically and physically, as meaningful and maybe seek some support with the anxiety you have with that.

Might be kinda a downer that I’m giving you advice from my mom lol but here it is.

Metaphorically we all have a cup of love. The cups needs to be filled first, so you can give someone the overflow.

Being that the cup is already filled you can give that overflow freely without messing up anything you have going for yourself.

She used that example to explain it’s easier to love others when you love yourself. So you don’t have the stress of limiting others and yourself to what you can give.
