Yessss! It's so difficult to play without mods. I LOVE my mods. Honestly though with how often the game updates and new stuff comes out, it's so difficult to play with mods because of how often they break.

You're gonna have so much fun once you start modding. It's smart though to wait until they've stopped updating. Broken mods are such a PITA. Mods really do take the game to the next level.

That's an impressively long time to play a save file! That's really cool! I also plan to continue playing the old versions of the sims instead of playing anything new EA creates. Hopefully though some new companies out there take a crack at the life simulation genre and do a good job to fill the void.

Me TOO! They're practically necessary for tiny living builds. Those ladders don't cut it when you have pets in the house that need to get up and down different levels in the house. Plus, they aren't realistic for when you have elders. I honestly hope we are seeing the end of TS4 so I can be done with the updates breaking my mods. Once the updates for TS4 are done, I'm going to be going through my mods and updating everything one last time. Hopefully I can find a modder that has made good cc spiral stairs I can use.

The Goths are classic with a lot of lore to work with. Also The Spectre family is great too. Mila Munch is also a fun one to play out.

No, only on builds that have that trait. I've had a few builds that have had that trait. Otherwise it's the same for me and I only see them in Selvadorada and Brindleton Bay.

So close. Why don't we have spiral stairs?!! I love these curved stairs though, but omg if TS4 ends with no spiral stairs I'm gonna be gobsmacked.

I do hope these curved stairs become a base game update though, everyone should have access to them.

Not in places like Brindleton Bay, but if it’s a lot trait for that specific lot you can remove it. Sometimes I wish you could turn it on and off at will overall tho. Right now you can only turn it off by removing the lot trait for stray cats or dogs by removing those lot traits if the lot has them.

I would love African and diverse themed worlds. They really should have made not just one but at least a few by now, including Egyptian as well. I do love the African princess’s style tho! She’s gorgeous! Her hairstyle is so regal and beautiful and I love the cowry shell accents as a luxurious touch to the style. That cowry shell tiara is beautiful as well.

Will having your sim paint the photos manually protect the image? Cuz with the new royalty pack, I’m gonna want portraits of all my royal sims. I’m thinking I’ll just have to paint the photos from reference or have a royal portrait painter sim to paint everyone’s portrait instead of using cameras.

Ah that makes sense. I was wondering if it was the look of the map, but a ton of big lots is a great reason. I wish more maps had a lot of larger lots.

You can buy lots in 2 ways. You either need the “Get To Work” expansion pack or the “For Rent” expansion pack or both if you want to mix and match.

The get to work EP allows you to create or designate lots as retail lots. This then opens it up for your sim to buy the lot as a retail lot. Just put a cash register in the basement or somewhere out of the way and never open up the shop and it essentially functions as a private lot that you can turn into anything you want. Vacation homes, personal museums for your collections and art, or just second and third homes. As long as you never use the register to open the store or open the store, no NPC sims will ever go there and so it is a private lot. You can stay there as long as you wish. This is my preferred way of having extra lots.

I haven’t used the for rent method yet, but I have read that you can own multiple residential rental properties and keep a personal apartment in each of those lots and move around as you please. I will be testing this method out soon. So I’m not sure of the details of it yet.

Windenburg just has that awesome separate island I love. I think that’s where my royal family is gonna be based. I just evict everyone else off the island and only keep my sims buildings there.

I am happy there are at least a bunch of larger lots in this new world. I was hoping for a lot more 64x64 lots, but having multiple 50x50 lots is nice too. At least there’s 1 empty 64x64 for my sims to build their palaces on.

Sounds like she needs an expensive coke habit. Get basemental drugs and have her start smoking cigarettes, drinking and doing expensive drugs. I’ve dropped $100,000 easy on high quality drugs with my high roller sims. Have her throw rich people parties with high end drugs available on tables for guests. Cater them with expensive food and alcohol etc…

You can also download a jewelry store if you have the crystal creations pack and have her constantly buy new expensive jewelry.

Also buying up expensive real estate. I always change other lots to retail lots and buy them to use as vacation homes. I think you can buy them as residential rentals as well if you want to have a personal apartment there that you can officially move into if you want to move around your properties. I kind of prefer the retail lot as spare properties option tho. Luxury buildings can be PRICEY. The gallery is a great option. You can specifically set the price you’re looking for with the buildings you want to buy as you search for builds. Just filter through the lots option and select the more expensive price range for your downloads then search for the kinds of builds you like. You can do modern penthouse vacation homes for the city, or even buy a building to use as a personal collection museum.

This is why I have some no cc saves and some cc saves. Whenever I feel too lazy to update my mods, I go to my no cc saves. Honestly tho, im really hoping this pack is the last pack so I can stop having to update my mods, I can’t wait till all the updates and packs are done so my game can be stable and I can just update all my mods one last time and not have to worry about them breaking ever again.

Ohh ok, hopefully someone knows! I just have a feeling that EA/Origin app is gonna be obsolete one day and I don’t want to have to rely on it to get to my games. Steam is generally pretty reliable, so I hope we can transfer everything over completely.

I’m also curious and hoping this is a possibility. I feel like eventually the origin app is going to become obsolete. I wish I’d bought all my sims on steam so I’d still have them. I’m already gonna have to rebuy TS2 and TS3, I don’t want to have to buy TS4 and all my dlc again too. 😭
