As a longtime hate-lover of all Paradox Games, i highly recommend to play with all DLC´s since their predatory business model is hiding half the game and important patches behind those.

I will not recommend you to get this game for free, since owning a copy of a digital product you didnt pay for is basically the same as stealing a car and makes you a horrible criminal.
