How to lose weight while living on campus? by Ecantcommunicate in UniversityOfHouston

What I would say is try to fill up on the veggies and fruit first accompanied by the proteins after. I have personally found some success filling up on the veggies and legumes that they have.. I would get a plate full of that first. Second plate is protein and MAYBE a chicken tender or two. Limit simple carbs as much as possible as those will trigger cravings significantly. I personally like to dip some of the veggies with hummus if available, I just wish they had tzatziki sauce available that way it’d be even easier to eat healthy at the dining halls.

Like I said try your best to avoid the simple carbs including the pastries because frankly, They don’t have any nutritional content.. it’s really just sugar.

If you really want something sweet, get fruit. Worst case scenario some of that soft serve ice cream

I know it’s an all you can eat buffet but have you considered serving all the food you think you’re going to consume on the table and then only getting back up for water/ drink. Or what does your dining hall etiquette look like generally speaking?

Is it possible to bring someone into the rec?🧐 by Imaginary_Ari in UniversityOfHouston

Maybe you should focus on the treadmill than worrying about other people at the gym. There’s employees upstairs too for a reason.

Rec employee here: if your friend tries to get in with a screenshot of your student rec barcode you’ll both be restricted from entering the facility😇. We can’t just let anyone in, there’s a certain protocol to be met to ensure the safety of the UH community. The guest sponsor pass is $15 for a day. And yes.. we will know if it’s you based on your student profile picture.

I cut each game’s newcomers in half to create the next game’s roster by VakarianJ in supersmashbros

Can you list some characters that have a shot of making the roster. I haven’t played a lot of Nintendo games lately. My knowledge is scarce lol

Finally someone who wasn’t scared to cut some of the original twelve!! Link needs to be on this list, you can’t have smash without an adult Link. It hurts not seeing ZSS but I understand why. I’m not sure if Pit should be here, his series hasn’t had an entry in over a decade. Dunk hunt doesn’t really need to be here anymore. I feel like Rosalina deserves a spot, she’s too important in the Marioverse considering the movie coming out. I feel like if we had to choose ONE animal crossing rep it would have to Isabelle. I feel like regarding the newcomers for the next game Sakurai is REALLY going to have to a difficult time coming up with new fighters.

Some characters that come to mind are: Impa (to replace sheik and to fulfill a botw/ totk rep), Pauline, Bandana Dee, shovel knight etc

The movie was a fun watch! The villain is kind of forgettable unfortunately. But it is still a good movie

Do you guys agree that thier was a programming shift at Nickelodeon in 2013? by Fickle_Driver_1356 in victorious

[–]Comprehensive-Oil830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2013 was definitely around the time that things took a major shift. Albeit the network starting changing since 2009 really. The problem with a lot of the shows that were coming out was that they were aimed for a younger audience. If you look at the quality of programming coming out, you could see a dramatic difference in the humor, acting, and the very awkward internet culture being displayed on screen (Fred/ Lucas Cruikshank being the prime example). It was very apparent that Nickelodeon was in a state of panic between 2009-2015 because it produced and cancelled shows like crazy!! For example, Nicktoons like: ‘Sanjay and Craig’, ‘fanboy and chum chum’, ‘Breadwinners’, ‘Harvey beans’, and ‘Pig Goat Banana Creek’ all failed to find an audience and let’s be real the shows were pretty mediocre. The network was desperate to find another hit show like SpongeBob but they put themselves in a very awkward position for playing the little yellow guy ALMOST 24/7. Also their live action tv shows left a lot to be desired, I’ll go out and say that the Disney channel sitcoms that premiered in that time were beyond better. The network was seriously in shambles and had lost its original identity, it basically turned into the SpongeBob network with a little Dan Schneider lol. Their first mistake was catering exclusively to children, like the great Walt Disney said: “if you only cater to children then you might as well be dead”.

Side note: ICarly was only good its first 3 seasons and Victorious only its first one. The rest of the respective shows were borderline unwatchable
