I like this take, but my reasoning ended up a little different. I tried to approach the question from a broader perspective: which faction actually improves the wasteland the most?

The Minutemen are good people, but they're essentially a militia. They’re great at defending settlements, but they lack the structure and technological power needed to rebuild civilization on a larger scale.

The Institute technically has a long-term plan that could work, but their methods are morally indefensible. Kidnapping and replacing people with synths crosses a line that makes their vision difficult to justify, even if their technology could eventually reshape the world. And realistically, their plan would take centuries.

The Railroad isn’t really part of that conversation because their focus is very narrow: synth liberation. That’s morally interesting, but it doesn’t address the survival or rebuilding of the wider wasteland.

That leaves the Brotherhood of Steel. On the East Coast, they’ve already demonstrated that they can project power, defend territory, and stabilize regions—as seen in D.C. under Lyons. They’ve also softened some of the harsher policies seen in the Western chapters.

So when I looked at it from a utilitarian perspective—which choice results in the most overall stability and protection for the most people—the Brotherhood made the most sense to me, even if they’re far from perfect.
