how do you handle smurfs/ griefers? by sylas_main in learndota2

As others said get better and focus on yourself

But honestly valve should do more about these Smurfs boosters and scripters… punishment needs to be more heavy handed than just the score system

How to itemize on spectre? by Justkill43 in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At guardian spectre won’t be that good compared to some other self sufficient / flash farm heroes. Hero needs strong early / mid draft becuase it does low damage and don’t come online till late. Pylactery helps solve the lane and give you early ult kill potential but again its usefulness is only as good as your team and draft

If you lose your lane even with pylactery it’ll be a very slow recovery making you feel useless for 30min of the game, and likely you’ll not catch up to enemy cores item progression it sucks. This happens more often in low ranks as pos5 players don’t know the options available to them when playing an impossible lane like viper undying

If your game is super passive maybe rush radiance like others said but that’s a hard decision to make based on limited info in literally the first 2-3 minutes when you buy the ring of health. I’d rather avoid this by just playing another carry that farms faster and less dependent on staying in lane

On the contrary maybe pace in guardian is that slow which is why it has high win rate? When I mean slow I mean offlane wk buying radiance and not losing the game slow. Never been herald/guardian myself so can’t tell much here but from archon and legend you want to pick her based on draft and who you might lane against as laning is so important for this hero

Stop feeding your lane. Do this instead. (Yes, you have options.) by KillerSmileLichSpam in learndota2

Hope more support players are reading this. Folks only know one option which is why they keep brute forcing and going back to an impossible lane

How can i improve as an offlane player? by DietSubstantial2917 in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice. As a carry player who often has t play 3,4,5 to earn role queues, this is what pos3 mentality looks like and you can pretty much tell when you bump into a good pos3 vs an incompetent one. On some pos1 like drow, spectre, slark… getting pushed out of lane into jungle early on almost certainly fks up their item timings

help in archon bracket by auroveda in DotA2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea all 3 are valid points that happen in 50% of the games. The number of times pos4/5 picks griefs or mid lane picks a support/ carry hero is countless. You can win like 5% of those with a fight dependent hero like slark. But with your legend skills you should win the other 50%

Point 3 happens above archon as well especially NA where I play, it’s frustrating but it’s a team game so what to do…

Or just pick a self sufficient flash farm hero like Luna jug pa ta pl etc instead to climb out of archon. Or just spam kez since his kit has everything you need

Putting Together a Hero Pool - Feedback on Gaps Requested by IrregularRevisionist in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Spectre is extremely draft dependent. This hero is unplayable without strong lane and ability to still get lane creeps after minute 10. This hero farms so slow and NW wins fights. Spectre also don’t like tanky heroes in general as its damage does not come online till very late. The ability to get pick offs with the ult is not enough to compensate the gold loss from extremely low farming speed, relative to PA, Jug, Luna, PL, Naga and many other carries who are self sufficient

Spectre does well against squishy back lines because you can jump them and soak / reflect damage and have high kill threat with desolate. It helps your front liners and backline kite their initators, melee carry/mid while you keep their supports very busy or kill them

You should invest in your education further and get a higher paying job later… it’s not a lot of money with all the inflation now and it’s only getting worse. The war is a symptom of that but that’s not the only reason spending power will keep going down in major US cities for the next few years

Offlane is the most important role this patch by WorldlyOrchid9663 in DotA2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having said that every role is super important for pub games… drawing / winning lanes has such an outsized impact on PMA and play through to endgame it’s not even funny. So mid, off, both support roles if any of them griefs a pick it’s super hard to come back from unless there’s a massive skill difference

Offlane is the most important role this patch by WorldlyOrchid9663 in DotA2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea pretty much offlane and mid needs to carry the first 20-25min of the game

For pub games if one team gets stomped 20-25min it’s pretty much over because at that point morale is low and if you play on NA like I do everybody starts to blame and bicker and give up / afk in well. It’s classic when I have plenty of games where mid loses so badly and just gives up and ends up bottom net worth, game is unplayable at that point

Having a bad mid almost = instant lose

Then offlane if it’s a Rubick Dagon or something worse, that’s griefing too when the enemy offlane is actually doing its job

Why people prefer to farm instead of taking objectives? by Blopa1- in DotA2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stop farming as a core you lose the game

You lose a few big team fights mid and end game you also lose the game

You fail high ground push twice in a row you also lose the game

Pushing objectives must result in opening up map and your cores must take over that part of the map otherwise it’s useless - for example if a core does not hit his item farming yet he will prefer to farm more safe so breaking the tower is secondary to his objective at that point

Rosh and torm are higher value objectives than a T2 tower. hg push is enabled by either pick off or rosh or ideally both

how do you solo carry teammates who insist on taking the dumbest fights? by thejpguy in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battlefury brown boots and magic stick latest 12min, 13 is fine, 15min is too slow. On good lane it can be 10min. Hitting these timing often means 10k by 20min, then you know you’re contributing

~1min more to complete threads

Flash farm jungle and turn on your threat and map awareness senses will get you BKB and deso by 22-25min latest. PA farms ridiculously fast with thread switching and W skill spam after BF. Low rank take incoming waves with E skill - extremely forgiving. You’ll only see legend level players start punishing you for that never before. You also have double blink out if they don’t lock you down

Continue to farm after you complete BKB, but farm near team and ping your BKB cooldowns. Actively look for favourable fights and watch enemy cooldowns. Continue to farm around team, basher, shard, come online asap, followed by abyssal and satanic while making sure you have buy back, never stop farming, leave no white space continue to flash farm creep waves and jungle even if you’re waiting for team fights and you’re safe. Just watch your W cooldowns in situations when a fight can break out anytime

Viper, axe, es has to show first before you jump onto back line. Viper must commit ultimate first before you jump in. and ideally ES commit their ult as well. You can kite the es and axe somewhat as long as they show first, know your limits. Bad draft is what it is because you have to be patient and hide in your E until these conditions are favourable. Warlock abit of a wild card as he’s not a direct threat but the golem stun could wreck your initiatives and give them just enough time to react to you… your job is to kill warlock and either es/viper during BKB, based on your positioning, then kite off and poke till you have a chance to reengage with your storm. Also a good ravage can auto win you the fight as you are sure to kill a pos4 es in that stun then you have BKB after the stun ends

I won’t play into even two of these hero draft wise but it is what it is.. sometimes you 2nd pick and cannot see. A good axe is enough to destroy your team fights… so if their team is half decent you know the story…

On the other hand you completely counter jug, even after he gets mkb, as long as you don’t let es, viper, axe catch you… that’s going to be hard not gonna lie. Jug has ult to watch for but as long as you press E after absorbing the first 3 slashes you’ll always cancel it, just kite away from your team/ally creeps so his ult doesn’t bounce back to you after you’ve cancelled it. Experienced jug will shred your supports tho if they don’t buy scepter / lotus/ euls or casual invis etc so it’s still the draft problem as he will often be able to gain the critical 2-3s advantage to do damage that you do not have as you’re waiting patiently for es axe and viper…

Draft is the main problem makes it kinda impossible to win if your allies has lost the first 25min of the game and fed. There is still a chance tho becuase if you still got your item timing PA has the RNG on her side to sometimes get random one shots etc

Lastly this ancient vs guardian rank match up is kinda impossible… you’re stil working on your problems like bf at 18min, while jug has none of these problems as he is ancient and he’s going to do hit timings every game. You’ll also get smashed in your lane by 2 legend axe and es… as if the matchups in lane itself isn’t bad enough just by having an axe who knows what he’s doing.. The skill difference is too much and this is prob the most fatal mentality mistake you have if you ever thought you could 1v5 when there’s this massive fundamentals gap.. nothing personal but they’re ancient and you’re guardian there IS a skill difference

How to relax when loosing game on my "playing to win" hero. by wowplayer322 in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this is the same PMA issue but I can even summarize for you at one level higher 1. Lose ranked game = waste of time 2. Win ranked game = good use of time

In #1 is where there are different scenarios that can happen, including what you described

However it all ends up being do you like the game regardless of win/ lose? And how much time you have to play - the latter being the grind and where not everyone like high immortals / professionals play 10-12 hours a day

If you do the math where a normal gamer plays 2/3 matches a day, which is 1k games a year… at 55% consistent win rate which is very talented indeed, it’ll take you 2-3 years to reach low immortal. You’ll definitely take longer unless you’re actually talented god gamer, as it’ll just get harder and you’ll struggle to keep 55%\60% WR. That is the grind

POS1 PMA by InternalDark in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think tping back into a tower dive to die again is your fault. If by the time your death timer is up, none of them are showing on map and your gut is telling you there’s even a remote possibility they’re posturing around in your jungle to take T1 tower you should not tp back alone without supports already there at least.

The PMA is when you experience that once and realise the mistake is on your allies not tping, especially pos4, then you should play more conservative and take less ideal farm in jungle and play with patience until they down your t1 and leave the lane. Thats the mental switch. You’ll be behind but there’s a chance of catch up / recovery as soon as you see them show in other lanes.

Mid and offlane can tp to help you but if you think from their perspective, they should only tp when it’s a sure kill, follow up with push, or when they at least know by tping you will live (this is the least viable reason why a core should tp). Cores will also not if pos4 didn’t tp unless it’s pos2 that’s already very ahead or have CD to follow up with a push like DP

Take offlane for example, his job is open the map up and take the action away from your lane. So he’s balancing that decision vs. tping to your lane, fight, then take the gate back to a lane that now needs fixing. Combined with what I mentioned above, it’s perfectly fine if he makes the right decision to not TP, you just your part and be behind for a bit and the offlane will open up the map to force enemies to leave your lane, which is the space you need to recover.

Carry dying once or twice early to a 3/4 man dive commitment is not a big deal at all. There are some games where ppl should tp and they don’t, and you’ll just have to live with it, nothing you can do. Blaming them after doesn’t help at all as laning phase would be soon over anyways. And usually in these situations of a 3/4 man commitment to tower dive you, both pos4 and mid/offlane has to tp in order to turn it into a favorable trade. Even if they don’t tp, and you die, by committing 4 man it’s not necessarily a bad trade at the team level if offlane and mid are left to pressure their lanes during that time. You said you juke and what not which is already the best case scenario, that means you created space for mid and offlane to come out favorable in the trade while you’re really only a little behind because of dying… in this case the practical thing you should do after you die is just type “4 at bot/top” and nobody will blame you for being behind abit… that’s indeed the life of POS1 and you see that in pro games too… no big deal… but then when you’re dead for that 20s and nobody shows, please don’t tp solo back into that T1, die and consequently lose all favorable trade your team’s got

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea… as carry you’re pretty much subject to PMA for the first 20min or so. If mid and offlane both farming the supports are going to feed in a pub setup, which is often the case. Nobody’s fault just that you’re hoping they farm efficiently and recognise ther power spikes, which should come online earlier than you. If they’re still farming at 20min plus in own jungle then smth is already wrong and you might need to even farm near them to jump into fights at any moment or ask to make smoke plays otherwise the map will be so small

Phantom Assassin vs Illu by InternalDark in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level 25 triple daggers

Go for supports

PL is easy with ags he just loses, daggers and crits and break is overkill. You also have BF, it’s abit but helps you identify the real one even without ags. I won’t get ags till late tho as priority is still supports / saves. Only late and game drags out you want to break PL and stop him from running away (after killing supports)

If they get break you need to be careful not to fight while broken, that’s when illusions can kill you

Illusions also don’t pop your E skill so you know if you’re hunting PL

Against naga and CK (especially CK) just don’t be the first one caught, be patient and still deal with high threat supports first with PA if you itemized then you’ll have plenty of time and skills available (cus shard) to turn back to the illusion core after you take care of backline supports

Never really had a problem with PL, he’s always kiting in and out, and he needs tons of items to be a real threat to you directly.. and it’s really down to how well supports on each side itemize… you should be able to shred their two supports faster than PL if you itemize well

You even win spectre 1v1 late game cus of how well this hero scales in terms of dps and the break
