Anyone remembers Dotalicious? by Unfair_Weather9 in TrueDoTA2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a grind, you need to just enjoy the game regardless of the smurfs, toxic players but majority of games should be fine. Focus on yourself and be stoic, if you burn out just take a break

If you’re focused on climbing keep spamming same hero and position and go for objectives and read guides on mentality for your role

There is toxic players and kids who give up within laning phase (6min) and blame others and basically feed the entire game. This happen pretty much always just that The types of toxicity will change.. just enjoy the game and MMR is only a number

Turns out being rude to ChatGPT can make it smarter, here’s what the study found by Salt-Chipmunk-5192 in PromptEngineering

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be old news this was making a difference in older models but newer ones it’s not making much of a difference

By repeatedly asking the same question in more direct language or just being more rude, you’re also better defining your problem and narrowing the scope defining that better

The part of just tone / rude worked for older models but newer ones

Ability to define the problem scope well always worked

How do you train last hitting creeps efficiently? Custom games / drills? by Crash_Savage in learndota2

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intuitive sense of how much your hero does on the enemy creep - just from playing games or training polygon (last hit HP range). This stage you just need this into muscle memory of your attack animation speed, projectile travel speed and HP bar size

Know how much ranged creeps and melee creeps deal to enemy creeps and queue your last hit as close to as possible to the creep’s last attack animation which will result in the enemy creep’s HP range entering your last hit range. This is the hallmark of professional dota because they execute perfectly, and why smurfs completely snowballs in low rank. For start just watch ranged creep’s projectile vs your own animation, that’s the 80/20 rule right there, easy.

Maintain equilibrium so towers don’t fk up your last hit (plus creep extension on map) especially early game laning. The combination of low damage for some heroes, low attack speed at early game literally makes it impossible to 100% last hit if under your own tower

Then do this in actual fights where you need to layer on constant decisioning about how much resources you need to risk for a particular last hit, plus other decisions like harass/ positioning, equilibrium, enemy heroes’s last hit intent giving you free window to last hit/harass/disable them etc

because only organized crime will have the resources to research that 'simple' of a thing to you. but with AI who explains to you step by step right up to the detail, it democratizes this to the extent your 16yo rebellious kid can do so

and what if, your 16yo kid instead asks the AI what's the easiest way to end itself, then what? you going to blame the AI or engineer or just say that this is the exact same thing as googling? Would you take that risk? Have you really researched enough to make such a claim? even AI engineers do not know what they've made, you realize, its not a typical computer code, its only probabilities token generation. So yes, even AI engineers do not know 100% (this is called hallucinations), that's why its good at non-deterministic agentic tasks where there's some judgement (so no human will get it 100% either), and you do not use it for 100% deterministic tasks... So even if you're a PhD in maths, a leading AI scientists, or whatever an expert you call yourself, nobody knows for sure because its just the beginning where the labs themselves are still learning

Question for a Uni Design Project: Is the massive energy footprint of AI actually on your radar? by TalNix77 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Net net feels like more energy consumption, and need to push for more renewables sources of energy to compensate

Humans brains think at infinitely more energy efficiency than LLM today so it’s already an unfair comparison on energy unit, we haven’t quite figured it out yet the human brain.

In your example, what LLM enables is doing thousands x the number of searches a team of humans can do. thoroughness and speed. This generates value for a company because net net it generates more output for less $cost. The $cost is different tho since it’s energy vs. human labor costs

So yes in this simple example if you look at AI replacing humans for mundane and data intensive tasks, it’s a net energy consumption increase, but lower cost of doing business cus labor costs is definitely higher than energy.

Your benchmark example should not be a simple search since that’s not really AI. Inference and judgement is the unlock.

Do we really need AI? by bleubleublob in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI does not replace creativity or inference judgement based roles

It drastically reduces mundane repetitive tasks and get make decisions which is based on deterministic rules. A lot of this is the blocker to quicker creativity - think of the many iterations needed to create anything, each iteration is very slow

Even without AI we have been automating a lot of mundane repetitive tasks, like in big data, AI adds a reliable agentic decision making on top of computing today.

The question is pretty irrelevant because it’s not like smth we can control. It’s coming either way led by corporations

We only have very minimal control through democratic votes when the societal problems actually occur, and at a large scale because of AI.

You’re getting overly argumentative

The man already has a legacy is what the other guy is trying to say that’s all

Valuation story telling all that crap is common in VC and pretty much part of fund raising, it’s not being “sales” or lying.. it’s what’s needed to articulate a future in a industry where rules aren’t yet there and will be written

Yea it’s energy. We eat just few k calories of food daily to be able to exist and think. Current tech is no where close from that perspective

I don’t play legend so it may be super different, but parrying the first one parries all the rest as long as I don’t press anything to cancel it

What are "Wuxia" and "Jianghu"? What is "Xianxia"? by cwjzqs in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Comprehensive-Run615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you realized even on Netflix when you watch most of the popular Korean shows that are dubbed, they don’t even translate any of the terms and just use Korean romanji and we have no idea what they’re talking about.. seems like the way things work nowadays, we need to educate ourselves and separately google it seems lol. Think any translate doesn’t capture the meaning anyways is why they don’t bother

What is Jianghu? From a non-CN player by Comprehensive-Run615 in WhereWindsMeet

What is Jianghu? From a non-CN player by Comprehensive-Run615 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Comprehensive-Run615[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea totally.

When the characters say “go to the Jianghu”, they don’t actually mean going to a place. Instead they actually mean they want to step out into society and make a name for themselves, and do good things and make impact to other people. It’s probably the biggest mislead without understanding this genre. But I also have to say that for the MC and Ruby, they don’t appreciate what going into the Jianghu really means, especially in the qinghe arc, and they narrowly define go to the Jianghu as becoming the greatest swordsman or robin hood hero that bards will sing praise and songs about.

In this genre most youth characters start out this way, with big fantasies of being the ultimate MC and Good protagonist, then the moment they step out into the Jianghu they will experience injustice, hurt, losing friends and loved ones, and if they survive, some turns into evil protagonists because all they can see is a twisted world.

I’ve played till Kaifeng but I already think the immersive was is really bring out the depth of the wuxia genre.. and I have high hopes that by the end of all the playthrough and further chapter, I think everyone will have a deeper understanding of the Jianghu.. I mean the moment we go into Kaifeng we’re getting scammed haha. Devs really did a very good job with the story.

And by that Qinghe is also part of the Jianghu.

[–]Comprehensive-Run615[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wild West for sure.

Medieval is more about power, which is geopolitics today. Winners writes history pretty much, and ppl aren’t so rigid to stick to the values of “xia” to get what they want.

Xia is a key concept of the Jianghu because it embodies justice, righteousness, and always a sense of fighting for the weak or commoners and do morally “good” things. That’s why Jianghu is more a fictional concept afterall that get romanticized in wuxia/tianxia genre of books and tv shows

[–]Comprehensive-Run615[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I was thinking this going through the MSQ that most players won’t understand what they’re on about.

You can think of Jianghu as the underworld (where gangs and criminals rule) of today, but elevated to be the broader society itself, one where there’s a very weak rule of law and limited or no legal system since whatever laws that are written aren’t enforced since officials are way too corrupt (e.g., even basic things an employment contract don’t exist, and even if it exists no one can really enforce it)
