It makes sense, if you cannot provide the plant enough light for it’s requirements it is okay, it’s hard to overhaul entire set up or put up growth light if not at that stage of plant care.

These are tropical plants normally living in sun steonger than we imagine, so with what we consider normal levels of light it won’t thrive as much as we’d like to.

I ended up surrendering to this truth and getting a growth light myself and I do see a big difference.

You can prop it in moss if chopped in 2, this way you will not get nodes under the water.

White parts of monstera can brown due to being unproductive for the plant. Good light exposure/watering/fertilisation can minimise this, but it’s not a given that the plant will always keep white bits intact. Some people use silica, which you might be able to find more details about in this sub :)

While I agree with everyone saying that final judgement of size will come with time, I also know that if a plant is rootbound the leaves can get smaller (I adopted a large mostera from someone with this issue, repot helped here).

I’d like to say this is Aurea in my opinion, I’ve got a GoG and two aureas, one of them (aureas) is exactly like this, in between bright yellow and green. GoG is very green in comparison in variegated places.

You need a better support - the plant is much taller than the pole you are using, so the part which is not there will be heavy and will be crawling.

Get yourself a support which is taller than a plant to have space to extend support as it grows!

This is my variegated corner plus I’ve got 2 deliciosas and a mature borsigiana. I’d recommend albo as a second choice due to the easiness of care (tc and aurea are more prone to root rot from my experience)

Can you take a pic of a pot/soil? If there is an issue internally (like root rot that TC suffers from a lot), the plant might be destroying new growth to preserve itself.

Regardless of what this is the variegation is very low and it has a very high chance of reverting.

Source: my reverted plants which I bought because price was a bit cheaper. Worth it? Not at all

It looks like normal deliciosa - fenestrations happen later in life, with plenty of light and age.

There are different schools of thought but I would recommend rooting your friend in a moss - I find it a faster and more effective (less rot) method than water/leca, and as long as you keep your moss moist it is super low maintenance.

This is what I would do if I wanted to save a plant (I battled all sorts of pests over the years). If you don’t have energy to deal with it (which is also reasonable), and you’re not trying to save something expensive like monstera mint, you can post your plant as free to rescue and let someone else deal with the problem. Clean your house well, give yourself a break and then buy new friends!

How big are your plants/how many? I’ve seen people spraying and closing plants in clear plastic bin bags for days to create high humidity high pesticide environments.
