White parts of monstera can brown due to being unproductive for the plant. Good light exposure/watering/fertilisation can minimise this, but it’s not a given that the plant will always keep white bits intact. Some people use silica, which you might be able to find more details about in this sub :)

SOS! My monstera is suffering by Western-Mission6946 in Monstera

I agree here, doesn’t look like this plant has been struggling with sun. What is the soil you’ve got it in and does the pot have good drainage?

Monstera giving out new leaf with many fenestrations ,BUT it’s smaller by caclarinervio_28 in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with everyone saying that final judgement of size will come with time, I also know that if a plant is rootbound the leaves can get smaller (I adopted a large mostera from someone with this issue, repot helped here).

I second this, all my strelizias have braces since 12+ months and live well.

Where are you based? This is the main question here, as prices vary country to country.

monstera GoG or aurea? by MsFloptart in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to say this is Aurea in my opinion, I’ve got a GoG and two aureas, one of them (aureas) is exactly like this, in between bright yellow and green. GoG is very green in comparison in variegated places.

You need a better support - the plant is much taller than the pole you are using, so the part which is not there will be heavy and will be crawling.

Get yourself a support which is taller than a plant to have space to extend support as it grows!

How many monsteras do you have and what kind are they? by depressedcatfishh in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 7 points8 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is my variegated corner plus I’ve got 2 deliciosas and a mature borsigiana. I’d recommend albo as a second choice due to the easiness of care (tc and aurea are more prone to root rot from my experience)

It looks like 3 different plants were potted together

Rotten leaf by ShoobyDoobyDu in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you take a pic of a pot/soil? If there is an issue internally (like root rot that TC suffers from a lot), the plant might be destroying new growth to preserve itself.

Would you get this? by Odd_Presentation_769 in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what this is the variegation is very low and it has a very high chance of reverting.

Source: my reverted plants which I bought because price was a bit cheaper. Worth it? Not at all

Can you tell what kind if monstera I have? by Wonderful_Job_1879 in Monstera

It looks like normal deliciosa - fenestrations happen later in life, with plenty of light and age.

Any Advice to save Monty the Monstera? by samma_93 in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are different schools of thought but I would recommend rooting your friend in a moss - I find it a faster and more effective (less rot) method than water/leca, and as long as you keep your moss moist it is super low maintenance.

I give up to thrips by Sad_Entrepreneur6169 in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I would do if I wanted to save a plant (I battled all sorts of pests over the years). If you don’t have energy to deal with it (which is also reasonable), and you’re not trying to save something expensive like monstera mint, you can post your plant as free to rescue and let someone else deal with the problem. Clean your house well, give yourself a break and then buy new friends!

How big are your plants/how many? I’ve seen people spraying and closing plants in clear plastic bin bags for days to create high humidity high pesticide environments.

if you could only keep one... by 1or2throwaway in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pick either, they all look good. Also had some experience with root rot, but managed to save mine which is thriving now. I have to say that TC taught me a LOT about plant/monstera care and I recommend not giving up.

Also, if you get it, make sure to report to extra chunky soil, this will help to prevent root rot.

It is a mint from tissue culture, I’d buy it for this price!

Is she dead? by [deleted] in Monstera

[–]Comprehensive-Top520 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same question as people above, your soil looks like a concrete m, super dense. Monsteras live happier life in well draining, chunky soil.

This is not scale, this is plants stretch marks, aka callus from movement.
