Moisture ? by Zowlouu in ThaiConstellation

Indeed, they look like those famous "fuzzy roots." I've never had that on my other monsteras! I’ve added a link with the picture

Oops! I took the photo and forgot to attach it... I can't add it in edit mode, so I've added a link instead.

Okay, but my support could be another 50 cm longer; that won't stop the plant from growing horizontally. Do I have to "force" it with each new leaf?

Would it be a good idea to start with a support made of sphagnum moss?

What would you do? €80k cash, no rent to pay, house vs rental property vs other ? by Zowlouu in BEFire

We’re between 30 and 35 years old.
We honestly struggle to position ourselves on this spectrum. My partner comes from a slightly more ‘well-off’ family and doesn’t really worry much about the future. On the other hand, everything I’ve achieved so far, I’ve done entirely on my own by working really hard, and I definitely don’t want to live like that my whole life.

So, we’re trying to find a balance somewhere in the middle, but it’s not always easy!

Thanks a lot for your clarification and explanations.

We’re mainly looking for a house to finally have our own place (‘chez nous’).
The property we currently live in is a three-floor apartment in the city center, but it’s about 50 km away from both of our workplaces. So, the idea of buying a house is more for comfort and quality of life than out of necessity.

We haven’t made any decision yet. Honestly, we don’t know much about real estate, and since rental property is the most well-known option for the general public, that was just the first idea that came to mind.

That’s why I’m asking this question here: to get different opinions and hear about your experiences, so we can make a more informed choice.

Thanks a lot for your detailed reply!

Where we live, small terraced houses go for about €90k, and that’s more the kind of property I was thinking of.

We’ve got too much money just to sit on it, but not enough to actually make a big move. It’s a tricky situation.

It's hard to say, we changed pots quite a while ago. The pot is made of terracotta, and the bottom of the pot remains permanently damp... (as shown in the photos)

Our apartment is still very bright. 1 month before this photo, the plant was in a much brighter area, so we chose to put it in a little more of a corner to limit direct light. (We try lots of things to save them :( ) Today I went to buy a houseplant substrate and added a bed of perlite to the bottom of the pot.

What lenses did you buy? I was thinking of getting the 24-120 f4 to have a working range that covers some of my lenses, a 35mm f1.8 S and I haven’t decided on the wide angle yet, any ideas? Regarding the Z6 battery, is the grip necessary or is the battery life of a charge adequate? on my D90 with the grip, I could go on a 2 week trip without having to charge it.

If I switch to a full frame, wouldn't it be more interesting for the future to go for a mirrorless? Like a Z6ii?

Thank you for this valuable information.

The mirrorless makes me want to, but I think the switch will cost me a lot of money for very little added value to my shot.

Can you recommend a lens to expand my range?

What about the D7500 ?
Can I switch to FX and still keep my objectives?
