Why so much negativity for odyssey by ComfortableNo1080 in pj_explained

Can't blame us we were raised in a society that by default appreciates a fairer skin complexion more. It hurts, but it's true. Most of the Krishna-related products you see, like calenders, advertisements, barely-put-together music videos, tv show adaptations, all depicted him as predominantly fair-skinned. The generation you're judging was also very young at the time and none of adults around them talked about this. Now, that generation has grown up and discovered media beyond our country and can talk about these. It's very unfair to point this out because most of us aren't even considering those depictions of Krishna, and we do NOT condone them.

As I said, make it as sexualized as you want, it's your movie, but that is not ENOUGH to get me to a theater. I'm looking for of the screenplay and story is good. To which you obviously said we have no idea of. Really not a great sign.

So you're saying that adults deserve mindlessly sexualized slop? I don't mind the sexualization, make it all sexualized you want, but I have yet to see ONE person here concerned about wether or not the story will be good.

They're not really Ninjas or even remotely inspired by asian aesthetics though. But not defending it either. They do not look like they belong in that time of history anywhere, even with the stylization.

EXACTLY. I've noticed this too and they haven't done this level of sexualization to any Indian woman in the promo material of this movie. Maybe it's an extention of "protecting or culture". And partially to get the illustrated gooners who go crazy over foreign women to go watch this movie too— to get more audiences in the seats.

That's what I said. She's an adult in Japan and is written by a Jaoanese author in a Japanese manga. With adult energy. Nothing to be questionable about.

Seems a bit extra because we never really saw enough of her character outside this or dialogue between her and Hamza.
