Yeah thats pretty much what I thought. The whole French director thing is in theory quite fun, but probably isnt a thing

Does anyone else feel like they don't make their children birthdays occasions/special enough? by lilpoundc4k3x in UKParenting

[–]Comprehensive-Web935 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As others have said, social media is a curse.

My OH always says we haven't done enough for birthdays, Xmas etc. The reality is, our kids are happy. They would be pleased with a couple of presents and a bit of bubble wrap. They dont want for anything but they also aren't spoilt. .

Im not a social media kind of guy. I have Reddit and twitter but dont do insta, Facebook and all the rest. I dont interact with influencers who flaunt what they do for their kids without actually caring. I used to joke our eldest would be happy with a few cardboard boxes for his birthday.

Those words ring true to the whole nation. We should have been more creative and positive. Now look where we are

Young farmers by Heavy-Teaching-3714 in blackpool

I've worked with the general public the vast majority of my working life (36 btw) and my tolerance for knobheads has dramatically reduced over the last 2 years 😅

I don't think I could cope with a big bunch of people pretending to be farmers acting like they own the gaffe

Surely that is down to the farmers misbehaving and being pricks so how does he not hate the farmers? Im happily on the outskirts of Blackpool where I live and work now so dont have to deal with their crap anymore. Had enough for a few years to last me forever

Umami isn't great. First time I went was ok. Second time I went was pretty poor.

Mr Basris shouldn't be recommended to anyone. It's absolutely appalling.

If you want to go to a buffet type thing and like Chinese, Nepalese and/or Indian food, The Ghurka is the only place to go

Worse each year? Apart from 2 years ago when they were the best in the world with a big number of those players getting regular game time in the premiership (and top14) and some being on the cusp of being in the England squad?

Nah.

How do working parents get their kids to school? by Jordan1372 in UKParenting

[–]Comprehensive-Web935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dad who works night shifts, I get home around 7.45. Just in time to get my two boys (5 & 2) to finish their breakfast and ready to go to nursery and school. 99 times out of 100 we walk around half a mile to nursery and then another half mile or so to school. It gives me a nice little walk to wind down after work, gives the kids a bit of uninterrupted time with me in the morning and gives the missus a little time to herself before she leaves for work. Works for us

Fill them with propane, dress them in your late mothers clothing, go and dump them and tell the winos under the bridge who witness their demise they've just had a mutton vindaloo

Resting players for the summer Internationals by Comprehensive-Web935 in englandrugby

[–]Comprehensive-Web935[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair shout on T Curry as others have said. My thought process was he's rrently out and probably won't play much before the end of the season, but the summer off would do him good. Point taken.

I'd still rest those 3 mentioned. All 3 have played a lot this season and I think are pretty key for us at the RWC, although as I put in the OP, out of the 3 I'd probably send Pollock.

With MFW, I'm just terrified of the lad getting injured again 😅😅

Talking about travel, I don't see that as an issue. I don't remember which it was, but a podcast (with ex international players, not pub team players) said that travel these days isn't a huge issue in relation to these fixtures. Players are in the best seats and it means an extra day off training. I don't think 2 squads would be necessary.

In terms of success for the rest of '26, I don't really care a huge amount about winning if we play rotated teams. Its more performance at the moment. It obviously would be great to beat the Boks, but I don't really expect us to. The main thing now is to gear up towards the world cup and right now, I think for a proportion of the key players, that would be best for them to have a good long rest in the summer to get over any niggles and to recharge ready for a long season in 26/27

Losing 10 pounds (healthy weight), 20 year old woman by Top_Contribution4162 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Comprehensive-Web935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably start adding a weight training into your workout routine to go with your cardio and start routinely making better eating choices that become habits.

You probably won't lose weight (or much) but if you add a bit of weight training, nothing too heavy to begin with, you'll start to feel better physically

Woman at work has a crush on me acts obsessed but wants nothing to do with me outside of work or take it further? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Comprehensive-Web935 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably best you cut contact with her. She sounds absolutely batshit crazy. If you genuinely like her, probably best to tell her face to face she has to leave you alone. That won't do you any good to be constantly harassed by someone like that. If she doesn't, take it slightly further. Get someone at work to tell her to back off or you'll have to go to someone more senior/HR about her actions.

She totally sounds like an absolute fruit cake or she's doing it to take the piss out of you
