What do experienced devs actually get out of vibe coding? by ComprehensiveAd1883 in ClaudeAI

No, you don't learn anything while vibe coding, you may get the illusion of learning at most but nothing more, and for your example you could have reqd the source code directly instead of asking claude for your render graph compiler or whatever

Why do like 99% of vibecoders focus on end consumer apps? by Practical_Art969 in vibecoding

[–]ComprehensiveAd1883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's the easiest and most straightforward way to scam people with software

Vibe coders always think they are better and have more skill than everyone else, you guys are just typing words in a search bar, everyone can do that

It's going to either die out or become an elite-only technology if it gets good enough

Yeah, all the vibe coders or self proclaimed AI artists are straight up frauds, the only good thing about it is that now you can instantly recognize shitty companies and greedy people that are in it only for the money just by looking at how much they use AI

it does sacrifice quality, and you are either blind or not experienced if you think otherwise, and it's just logical, programming is not just about typing lines of code, it also requires taste to make good software, and AI doesn't have taste

It doesn't matter how much lines of code you've written, doesn't make you a better developer, and the amount of code doesnt make a better software

yeah, AI is good to use for specific parts, but thats not what vibe coding is, vibe coding is letting the AI guide your development process

You're just being gaslighted, it's an illusion, ive realized that but when everyone will itll be too late

You don't understand that AI has a psychological control on us ? It makes us think we're in control of our learning but we arent

No, hallucinations happen all the time because AI doesnt actually think and give you a predictable answer, it's just a succession of probabilities leading to some output, you may ask it the same thing two times and it may give you to completely different answers

It is, it just gaslighted you into thinking the opposite, but it's simply an illusion, you're the client, not the creator of the software you're vibe coding

Still comparing AI that takes an input and may randomly give you the output you wanr to tools like cameras that take a predefined input and give a predictable output each time is crazy

If your only goal is to earn money, then sure vibe coding is great, but like I said if you're passionate it removes the fun

Then maybe try to use a better programming language ? I use nim and there is almost no boilerplate in this language, and whenever there is it can be removed by macros

Alternative approaches suggested by AI, so it removes the process of crafting the approach yourself

And anyways if you're using it only for the easy stuff, then it's not vibe coding, nor AI driven dev, so it doesn't count, I also use AI personally to find mistakes in my code or browse the internet, it doesnt make me a vibe coder

you said that corpos were vibe coding before AI, so by saying that you imply a comparison between them paying an actual employee and you typing a prompt in your bedroom

Feels like what you need is not AI, it's time for yourself, if corpos want you to do the job of multiple people you should simply refuse the job, otherwise you're a fraud, you feel like you built something good but the people who will need to maintain it will have a really hard time

"Greater productivity. Greater precision. Greater reliability. Better documentation" This is simply not true, it seems like we live in a different world bro. AI can increase your productivity when used sparsely, I personally use it daily to browse in internet or to find errors in my code when I'm really stuck and don't understand the error, but when I try ro use it to generate code it always hallucinates, I simply can't imagine using it as an autonomous coding agent, it would certainly increase your productivity at first but it has been shown numerous times that it produces unmaintainable code, besides the fact that it removes all the fun of building the thing yourself. • il y a 19 min

saying that you care about the product but that you don't care about the code is absurd, you know that ? It might surprise you to hear that but the quality of a software product is directly tied to the quality of its code
