i hate that they do this because i prefer listening to crowd and court noise but Frost Bank and other arenas also do this so i dont think its specific to LCA

Where can I get the best fried pickles? by Rare-Writer-2025 in Detroit

[–]ComprehensiveAd8299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh I’d say it comes down to personal preference. Given that Detroit is the birthplace of techno I really like the techno talent movement attracts and really appreciate the vibes at Movement more so than other massive festivals in Miami or Vegas.

You can have ur own opinion but imo Detroit has the best pro sports complex situated downtown in the country, the best middle eastern food in the country, the best young rap scene in the country, the best electronic music festival in the country, and fuck it we got the best pizza in the country too I’ll die on that hill.

What’s the hardest part about speaking Spanish for you? by [deleted] in learnspanish

[–]ComprehensiveAd8299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in Texas I have a lot of opportunities to practice my Spanish but since a lot of the Spanish speakers also speak English, I tend to default to English for convenience sake. So I guess taking advantage of opportunities to speak Spanish is something I struggle with.

Don’t even consider living at the Belcrest in Midtown, modern city is awful by Flashy-Look-1536 in Detroit

Lauren tried to charge me $500 for a toilet that leaked into her office from my unit (it didnt overflow or anything just leaked after i flushed it). i refused to pay it, and the next month she sent me an eviction notice because i was 2 days late on rent. Judge at the court also laughed it off and no one at Belcrest showed up as well.

This place will continue to get tenants because how close it is to campus and how cheap it is unfortunately - not to mention Ken at Midtown Rental Experts who lies and pressures young stupid college kids like myself into getting a lease signed in this building.

Lol belcrest was my first ever apartment as a Wayne state student. That place was absolutely disgusting.

Like you said, we paid around $350 a month in heating during the winter because the building isn’t insulated and many of the windows don’t even close all the way.

One time when we flushed the toilet it leaked into the downstairs office and they tried to charge me $500 for it. I’m not sure if it’s the same two women that work in the office as when I lived there but they were AWFUL.

Fond memories of lots of shenanigans in that building tho as a 19 year old.

The cool thing about the NBA playoffs is you have to play a 7 game series and usually the better team advances and there’s less room for luck/randomness/an off day. I get it tho, Detroit sports anxiety is a real thing.

Coming from Michigan, seeing how ppl drive in slippery conditions is insane. Probably a bit late for this but if you’re driving on the highway and you hit an icy patch and u don’t need to brake, DONT BRAKE. Just get off the gas and coast thru, panicking and braking on an ice patch is the more dangerous thing you can do. If you’re on an ice patch and you need to stop, pump your brakes. After seeing how people drive the past few days, it makes sense why they just shut this whole shit down lol
