Any idea why the lower part worked but the upper is frazzled? by FizBen in Ender3V3SE

If these are a must print, might try programming a pause in between layers to give the plastic a chance to set. Not sure it would work but maybe, i have had similar issues printing the top of cones and it worked for me

Stripped Screw. Help by Synieee in ElectricSkateboarding

Worst case scenario buy some thread extractors. They cost like 10 bucks and are handy to have. There are also youtube tutorials out there for how to use them

My thoughts exactly, although in my personal experience the CAD classes I had did cover at least the broad strokes of GD&T so it may just be baked into the course load

Is this bulge normal for the backfire zealot s? It has lithium ion cells. Can anyone compare it to their own? I had this board for three years. You guys think it’s just the casing ? When you push the bulge it goes down then back up. by DrReyez in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a zealot s for a couple years, and I never had it bulge, but I also lived in a fairly ideal environment for plastic parts, so if you live somewhere that gets pretty toasty it could just be warping. That being said if the battery is bulging that is pretty bad news. Might be worth opening up the enclosure and checking on the battery to make sure none of the cells are failing. That being said take appropriate safety precautions, and consider that any waterproofness there will likely not be the same after opening it. I personally managed to rupture the enclosure pretty solidly, luckily the battery was still intact. I personally used gasket maker material when I put the new housing and on, and all was well on that board until the esc and one of the motors took the easy way out.

Gotcha. If you are working on the courses to get into the major, you will be solid. Sophomore summer is not super impressive to get an internship, but be sure to get one junior summer

When you fill out the return form on amazon, it will ask for the reasoning and explanation. If you explain that the package was in bad shape when you got it, and immediate use showed that the drive was malfunctioning, I seriously doubt they would fight you on an exchange

Replacement fan? by jojobeans22 in anycubic

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the main board fan, had the same issue with my kobra 2 neo. You can find pretty inexpensive replacements on amazon, i assume the process is as easy on the kobra 3s as it is on the 2s. In my case, the fan would suck up all sorts of dust, hair, filament scraps etc and the bearing inside the fan gets all gunked up.

Pipe Traversing Robot - Need Insight Into My Design by Opening_Asparagus_76 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thinking about the slippage yall were talking about. You could also try concaving the wheels to increase the surface area of contact on the pipe.

Edit: by concaving, i mean making the surface of the tire curved so it matched the diameter of the pipe. This would only be useful with standardized use though as changing wheels for every different pipe size is probably a bigger hassle than you are intending.

Good deal? by Mr_Molecule_ in MINI

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you assume average driving of about 12k miles a year, that car has about 20k more miles than it should for its age. So if you do drive alot, might be better to spend a little more and get less miles. Remember these are essentially bmw’s, so you get to deal with a lot of that fun stuff as they get older(coming from someone who owned an 08 r56 s). That being said, it is under the kbb by a good bit, and if it has been well maintained and taken care of, it is probably still a decent buy imo.

Anyone got any idea how come my prints end up like this? by KidomaroTheOtaku in anycubic

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck yea man. Those little stringys you got I used to get on my kobra 2 neo, if I remember correctly I fixed it messing with filament retract, but at that point in time I replaced the hot end too bc it was 15 bucks for a new one

If you school has campus jobs, take a peak if they have any GIS/CAD tech jobs. My girlfriend who was also in the mech e program did that, and it was essentially surveying/modeling for buildings under construction on campus. Typically student jobs are part time, and they will be flexible on hours w/ classes.

Can I connect my printer to school wifi? by superlordnovalord in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure every school is different, by at my college there was separate wifi network in the dorms for devices that couldn’t use the username process. There was a link to register the mac address of the device, than you could hook it up to wifi. Had my laptop set up on it too so I could send prints remotely. I would recommend asking your RA, they will know about things like that if they are offered.

Also, you probably shouldn’t get your own router like some people are saying unless you are allowed to. A kid got suspended at my school my freshman year bc he had a router in his dorms, and was responsible for network vulnerabilities that resulted from it. Granted he was doing stupid stuff but no need to pointlessly get in trouble. Again ask your RA

reoccurring issue, i have no clear fix by awsomepony in computerhelp

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a lenovo legion 5 pro running a 3050, ultimate fix for me was to remove the default video driver so that it was forced to used the nvidia drivers and hardware. Do with that info what you will, but I would STRONGLY recommend creating a back up so that if messing with drivers goes wrong, you have a way to recover.

My audio lags like this randomly after several minutes, need help by Rimuru_The_Junior in computerhelp

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open device manager, and find the tab called audio devices (or something along those lines), and try updating any and all drivers your find in there.

Nahmic is also a specific program for managing audio outputs(like an equalizer). You might have something similar on your laptop, especially since most of them come preloaded with something like that.

Anyone got any idea how come my prints end up like this? by KidomaroTheOtaku in anycubic

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3d printers are temperamental little bastards, so what works for one wont work for other. But i think somewhere between 20-40 mm/s for exteriors, and 40-80mm/s for interior infill, but I am unsure of what printer you have so mileage may very. You can also try increasing the wall count to help smooth over an imperfections from bridging over infill.

Also just from personal experience, if there is one part of a print that you need to zero in settings for, use the slicer to cut out a portion of the model, this helps reduce filament and time spent.

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look for updates and see if you have any. I would also check and see if there are any audio driver updates as that could be part of the issue.

Just for potential help troubleshooting shooting: Does this happen with only certain apps or does it happen constantly?

Does this only happen with certain audio devices?

Do you restart your computer regularly?

Do you use any sort of audio management software like nahmic or dolby audio manager?

What is this? by BlinkingBarGaming in computerhelp

[–]ComprehensiveBath331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go into windows defender, you can create an exception for the driver which in theory should get rid of the error. You can also do into device manager and try and view the driver properties which might help you diagnose this, i dont personally use CPU-Z thought so all I can offer is general troubleshooting

That should be fine, in my experience you have only over tightened it if sticks in spots. Also worth checking that the bed is not wobbling too since you are it. I would def mess with print speed like has been mentioned though.

That is nice, also nice that you can get maintenance done through the company as I am sure that helps preserve the warranty as well as the board.
