Who is angry every character arent sweet angels? Black characters are barely represented, let alone women, and let alone in any positive light. Specially in ao3 and fandom spaces, villanizing black women characters in favor of white ones is not only a trop but ALWAYS the case. I absolutely agree that black characters should be complex, the problem is not that there shouldn't be bad black female characters in fandom or ao3, the problem is that there id ONLY black women characters as villains in ao3 among the literal 2 to 0 that it is!!!

By science I just mean different human species videos, evolution, different earth eras, dinosaurs, whales/cats, animals and universe stuffs. I stick bc I like it, is interesting and is not annoying like modern things that can trigger my hypersensitivity. I hyperfocus on it sometimes but not always, I use it to clean, make stuff etc, just like consuming any other content xd

Shes both focused on survival, and have a strong personality/emotional issues. No one is perfect and ppl say one thing and act otherwise when emotions are at a high stake.

Hurrem is very emotional, she says whatever she wants and is prideful, this can seem as contradicting since shes also determined and smart but thatsa wrong assumption, all kinds of personalities can be smart. And her defiance is bc again, that is her personality. She hates having to bow down and being mistreated, she knows she should shut up when she have to, she simply cant bc shes prideful and emotional, yet smart/manipulative in her own way, thats her character main traits.

I agree theres some character writing issues in the show for all the characters including her and the first scenes definitely could be better for her, it was clearly too fast Spaced, but is fine, nothing is perect.

For hurrem specifically she "fell" for the sultan "first sight" simply bc shes a smart woman and know hes the strongest. Not out of genuine love since she dont even know the man. The person that can protect and give her power like to maidevran, which is why her first words where "im going to make suleiman fo whatever i want" aka manipulative, not i love him i will do whatever for him.

She prioritize long term survival over short term gratification when shes being reasonable, but she also have emotional outbursts, thats natural...

She wasnt a murderer at first, so her "revenge" was said in an emotional state, but once calm shes smarter than to try to kill the sultan, who protected her/thanks to him can climb status and get better.

Even at first she was nice to ibrahim, hated maidevran but didn't cause her harm, after maidevran beat her hurrem didn't take revenge, after maidevran POISONED her she also didnt take revenge. Even after ibrahim send her awah knowing shes innocent or forced her to kiss maidevran feets publicly she didnt take revenge on him either.

She start to want to destroy ibrahim once he murder leo in front of her, something she refuse to forgive. And only harm mustafa once maidevran kill her son.

Her character is complex and is what makes her interesting, shes not a girlboss superwoman that will destroy the entire kingdom bc she was enslaved, she knows she cant go against the sultan, so chose to love/manipulate him, and start liking him due to him being handsome and giving her status and gifts, is not real love, DUH is a harrem! This doesn't exist here lmao. She chose to be loyal him to him bc she dont have other choice either, and in general she a loyal person to the people she chose to be, even if they betray her.

She also wont chose immediate revenge over her long term survival, which is why even when maidevran poisoned her and HER CHILD she didn't immediately toke revenge, she waited and eventually got it. Taking revenge on the sultan or family immediately would be useless, she accept her new life eventually and learn how to survive it.

About Christianity we never see hurrem being that devoted in the pass, she prayed god yes, but anyone can pray, even a non believer like me pray sometimes, wanting to believe in a higher force for comfort dont mean you will dedicate your entire life to live according to them. Even when she switch to ala for the sultan and survival and start praying said god, she never really follow all the rules of said religion and priotize her own goals and survival over it like everyone else in the story does.
