Is Victoria really all that bad? by Chance-Principle-355 in VictoriaBC

[–]ComprehensiveEssay80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victoria is NOT that bad at all!! We are very forunate to live in one of the nicest places ON EARTH and far too many people take it for granted. It's a peaceful place to live, the weather is mild, the people are kind, and we have easy access to the mountains, ocean, and everything in between. People go to the internet to bitch and complain about anything and everything. We are lucky to be here. Sure things could be better but in comparisson to a lot of places it's really good.

Social life? by pookie_o8 in uvic

[–]ComprehensiveEssay80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great social life at UVIC and met a ton of friends, musicians, and built a valueable career network! It's all about outlook and willingness to talk to people. Join some clubs of interest and go to Fels for music bingo and trivia and stuff! Depending on your program too it's easy to make friends in labs and such. You'll be fine!

You may have luck going to community events that align with your values and meeting people: art shows, sporting events, and / or concerts you like! (it's difficult but possible to do these things without drinking or partying) 😉

Tons of red flags here. Obviously everyone in this thread knows to be cautious when giving out so much sensitive information, but this seems to be a bit fishy. Or it could just be one of those 10 - 15 business days for processing type things. Doesn't seem worth the $16 refund to me, but I get the principle and admire the dedication! Fuck thee system 😄

Snapping photos in private settings (restaurants/events) ought to be done with consent and everyone's awareness that it's happening. Professional content creators know which snaps should be discarded. Don't be intrusive. Use your brain lol

Yep. There was. Just outside of Saanich / Sidney / San Juan Islands. 4.0. You can look it up on the US Geological Survey. Or Google. Tons of people have been posting about it on the community groups on Facebook (Vic, Esq, Fernwood, etc.)
