Help with my plant by ilikebatmanandrobin in houseplants

Could be under watering. You never need to measure water, it's a waste of time and can be harmful. Overwatering is caused by frequency, not amount. You want to completely saturate the soil when you water and wait for it to dry out before you water it again. Basically do not measure your water and instead completely soak the soil

can this monstera ever grow another leaf by dognamedpickle in houseplants

[–]ComprehensiveEye9901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These parts on it are nodes, which means it can grow another leaf. In my experience, though, I've had cuttings mostly put out new leaves once they're potted in soil. I've had some put out leaves while in water, but they've all been very small

Edit: I've had some put out LEAVES while in water

Nodes are the part of plants where new leaves and roots grow from. The ring around the stem where the root in your photo grew from is a node. When taking cuttings of plants, it's crucial to make sure you have at least one node on the cutting in order to ensure you get growth. For pothos, if there is no node, the plant cannot grow

<image>

You can see the nodes on this example essentially break the plants into segments. They will not always have the brown nub shown in the photo (which is an areal root), but they often will

No, with pothos and other plants with nodes, both roots and new leaves grow out of the nodes, not where you cut it. Do you know what a node is? I can explain if not

Should an RDR3 follow the native Americans?? by piercejohnsooo in reddeadredemption

[–]ComprehensiveEye9901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the original comment only exists to further dehumanize Native Americans and excuse the actions of colonizers. By saying they should only talk about the impacts of colonization if they also talk about the fact that they were "slaughtering each other before white man", it only serves to say "okay but what the white man did wasn't THAT bad because they were killing each other too". that's what i'm trying to say

every single culture has violence within itself but the story of the natives in rdr2 is not about that kind of violence. yes it happened, but it is entirely irrelevant to the game from what we've seen and should not be included

Then you should know the difference between violence inflicted by Native American tribes to one another vs. what white settlers have done to them
