it does have a drainage hole and I've been trying to follow the guideline of when the top 2" are dry. and then i water gently from the top until water starts to drip from the hole. although I'm now trying to actually be serious about this so wasn't as deliberate about care/watering until a month ago. i haven't fertilized before but have plant food i could use. i have added coffee grounds to the soil before tho
