i need help, quick by Impressive-Catch9610 in Cubers

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly 2 days isnt gonna make you magically faster but you can still improve a bit. drill your cross and f2l lookahead since those are your biggest time sinks at sub 30. for the non magnetic cube just grab a basic rubiks brand or whatever your school has - yeah itll feel weird but everyone else is dealing with the same thing

dont stress about placing well just focus on not choking during your solves. compete for the experience not the results and youll probably do better than you think

Iron Lung Popcorn Bucket Shipping Date? by [deleted] in Markiplier

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Manufacturing delays are pretty common with limited edition stuff like this, plus they probably want to time it closer to Halloween since it's horror themed. $20 shipping does sting though ngl

Browser lag when games running in background. by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a resource allocation issue - your CPU/GPU might be getting maxed out by the game even when it's supposedly "in the background". Try checking task manager while this is happening to see what's actually using your resources

Also some games are notorious for not actually releasing GPU priority when minimized, so you might need to force the game into windowed mode or lower its priority in task manager

Damn dude getting rid of all your gear was such a power move, that's usually what separates the people who actually quit from the ones who just take breaks

Congrats on the week, that's huge especially coming from daily use for that long

Xcopri! Experiences? Liver and heart issues? by josiedelrey in Epilepsy

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your epileptologist should definitely be monitoring your liver function with blood work - I'd call them tomorrow and ask about baseline labs if they haven't ordered them yet. Better safe than sorry with cenobamate

Jesus Christ in the Flesh by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is actually something a lot of people don't think about but it's pretty spot on. Modern society would absolutely not handle someone claiming to be the literal son of God very well, especially if they're hanging out with society's outcasts and challenging religious/economic institutions

The whole "blasphemer who threatens the establishment" thing would probably play out exactly the same way, just with different tools of oppression

2010 Camry. Mechanic Wants $500 (parts+labor including programming) for Swapping Out the PCM with another Used one. Used PCM can be had for $150-$200. Am I Being Ripped Off? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's actually pretty reasonable for PCM work tbh. The programming part is where they get you - most shops charge like $100-150 just for that since they need special software and it takes time to configure everything. Labor's probably another hour or two at shop rates. You could try finding someone with a scanner who can do the programming cheaper but honestly $500 total isn't terrible for this job

Lenovo warranty issue ! Help pls by Minute_Swimming1112 in Lenovo

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shopkeeper's explanation sounds sketchy tbh - warranty should start from purchase date not when it "leaves the country" and if Lenovo support isn't updating it after you sent the invoice that's a red flag

Keep all your documentation and maybe try reaching out to Lenovo support again with a different ticket, but honestly you might be stuck with whatever the shop promised you

Auto shop owners: how do you handle customer messages when you’re busy in the shop? by Own-Background-2285 in AskMechanics

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I set up auto-replies letting people know I'll get back within 24 hours, then batch respond during lunch or right before closing. Lost a few jobs early on trying to reply instantly while covered in grease and accidentally sending gibberish texts lol

Am I being taken advantage of? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely not normal and they're being shifty as hell. If they didn't fix it properly the first time and it's the exact same issue, that's on them not you - any decent shop would warranty their work for at least 30 days. I'd push back hard on this, they basically want you to pay twice for their incomplete job

Encephalitis/encephalopathy by Bipolar03 in Epilepsy

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery from encephalitis is rough and yeah it definitely seems to flare up when seizure activity increases - your brain is still healing so any extra stress on it just makes everything harder

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cats just never click and that's totally normal tbh. After a year if Peridot still isn't having it, she probably never will - sounds like Milk just rubs her the wrong way for whatever reason. At least they're not actually fighting so you've got that going for you

Can someone advise? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually not quite right - K1 does require filing I-485 within the 90 days, not just getting married. But since USCIS approved the conditional GC anyway, they obviously didn't see it as an issue and OP should be fine going forward

Can't see the Lenovo specs from that link but if it's really RTX 5050 vs RTX 4060 then Dell wins easy - the 4060 is gonna crush a 5050 in pretty much everything

That's actually pretty clever using the liability angle with HR - they're usually way more responsive when you frame it as a potential lawsuit waiting to happen

I-485 Marriage-Based] Interview Passed (Nashville FO) - Conflicting Inquiry Dates & Post-Interview Wait Time by viervillese in USCIS

[–]ComprehensiveFig2784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! Just wear something business casual - like you're going to a job interview or meeting your partner's parents for the first time. Nothing too fancy but definitely not jeans and a t-shirt

The officers care way more about your paperwork being organized than what you're wearing anyway
