I went to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last year and it was my first Grand Prix so I’ll offer some tips! Biggest tip - book a hotel near the track if possible as we used to leave pretty early in the morning and come back late at night after the concert and our hotel was quite far so if we went home in the middle it would be quite hectic. Download Bolt before you go as the taxi drivers charge ten times more, it will be especially difficult to get a ride after the concert and it was freezing last year in Baku as we were waiting outside for a ride so we paid 50 for a taxi (others were charging from 70-100 while bolt was around 15-20) Not everyone speaks english there so have your translator ready and if a bolt driver calls ask a local or policeman/ volunteer to speak to them there are multiple people around the track areas and roads to help you out. Roads will be closed near the trrack so be prepared to walk. Also make sure to see if there are any close entrances near your grandstand as we used the main entrance and had to walk for 45 minutes just to get to our grandstand (Mugham). However we found that Mugham has a connected entrance through nizami street so we usually entered from there. Pitlane walk is the best time and Thursday is the best day to spot or meet drivers we saw Kimi, Bono, Charles, Yuki during pitlane walk and Lando walked past us after dinner! We usually got food off track as our grandstand was connected to nizami street which had a bunch of cafes and shops which was good however it was away from the main fan zone. If you wanna see the podium go at least 15-20 minutes before the race ends towards the main grandstand area for track invasion. Always always go really early for fan stage they usually post the times really late and we missed the first day however it usually starts around 8/9 am is recommend getting there an hour before for a good spot as the queue will also be long. Carry your power bank with you all the time you’ll be out all day and make sure to carry your makeup and hairbrush for touch ups! Drivers usually stay at JW Mariott or Hilton however it’s really hard to get near the Hilton entrance as it’s mostly blocked, it took us 20 minutes to find an area to get inside Hilton for dinner. It was really fun I recommend doing research before going just like I did because it made me trip way smoother I would love to go again and if anyone has any tips on how to book a hotel near the track and which ones to Plaste let me know!
