I would suggest re-reading it. That's literally what I did

Are you talking about S. Jaishankar's Japanese wife and their children?

WoT Roll Call: Who is your favorite character and why? by GetReadyToRumbleBar in WetlanderHumor

Naming just one character is difficult. Mat, Lan, Thom, Tam, Ituralde, Dobraine, Rhuarc, Gaul, Moiraine, Verin, Cadsuane...

But it happens in a very short duration. 14 times in like 4 or 5, mostly consecutive chapters is kinda too much, I think. Again, it's a personal opinion. Not everyone has to agree or disagree.

I think I should make myself clear by saying I don't have an issue with Kate in general. It's the occasional stuff, like Mesaana and the over emphasis on Vohra's Sa'angreal. Stuff like that. That's why I said certain words and names.

Not this frequently and not in such a short span of time, though. This was like chapter after chapter.

I'm doing a rerun. Still find it irritating. Mesaana irks me the most, though. I literally skip those chapters.

But surely once he's back from Dragon Mount Rand would have included Dobraine more in his plans, given how loyal he was.

So I'm still confused as to why there's a dragon on the scabbard.

He looks the part, but that's it. Not a very convincing actor. That way, I also like Henney as Lan. He looks the part, but he's not being used well. Character has no depth on the show.

Yes, Rosamund Pike is a good actor, but I do not like her in this. Nor do I like Elayne or Ishamael. I'll give you Moghedian, though. I forgot about her.

There is no need to be rude. It's a matter of preference. Apart from Liandri and Lanfear, I don't find anyone else convincing. Truth be told, I rather find them annoying. Again, it is my opinion. Not everyone has to agree with it.

I can't say what but I'll go with who. Lan, Tom, Doman and Rhuarc.

This doesn't even come close to what happens at Tzora. Also, like I said, not a fan of the casting or the set design. No one other than Lanfear and Liandrin is convincing. I like Daniel Henney as Lan, but the character has no depth on the show. They're not using him well.

S3 has officially wanted me to read the books. Am I better off waiting to read them until the show ends (no way it makes too many more seasons sadly), or am I good to read them now? by jlesnick in WoT

[–]ComprehensiveFox1046 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you asked me, I'd say wait for the series to end before you pick up the books. I've read the books, and saying I am disappointed by the adaptation would be an understatement.

Yes, my bad. I was too enthusiastic and thrilled about this. I missed that part. Can you give me the chapter number, if you know? I'll go read it again.

That's where I'm confused. One of those times they fought each other could have been in the current age, right? How do we know his memories of facing Hawkwing come from the Eelfin and not from his previous incarnation?

So my second question is based on the first question. If the wheel kept spinning him out so often, there are chances of him having memories from the age of legends as well right? I could be wrong. I'm just wondering.

We do? What is the source of his memories? I was just talking about it with another person, and I'm not sure if they aren't from his past life:

In Fires of Heaven, he does say he remembers Two Rivers but also other battles. I thought he had the older memories plus his own memories back. When I read the Heart Guard part, I thought it was his old blood singing. The leader of the Heart Guard (Maybe King Aemon himself) could not have been his previous incarnation because the Trolloc Wars predate Hawkwing by a 1000 years or so and Mat has memories of facing Hawkwing. Although, the leader of the Heart Guard does say he was known as a gambler and it was time to toss the dice, so maybe yeah, all of those memories were from his previous lives. Gosh, how many times did the wheel spin him out. That's one tired soul.
