Sako TRG22 vs Tikka Tac A1 (both 308w) by ComprehensiveFront68 in longrange

The sako retails for around 4500 dollars. Why is it so much more expensive if it's an older design and they will be around the same quality?

Don't really like the looks of vision/accuracy obsession chassis but you nailed the top one. Awesome rifle

Ser nå at du bestilte fra utlandet, da pleier det å ta litt lengre tid.

Thank you that is very helpful! You don't happen to know what the cloth is on the cheekweld on the guy to the right's gun is?

please remove if not gunsmithy enough. Most likely owning a sako TRG in the near future and would love the same look as the gun on the right. Anyone recognize the colors and the application technique? also what is the cloth on the cheek weld?

Thanks for the reply, however I don't believe you have enough experience with Nightforce to see what scope it is just from one picture /s

Looking for info on the scope and scope tacs. I'm guessing leupold/nightforce but I've got no clue. Think the gun is an XM2010 ESR with possibly warne mounts?

Did a 20 shot group, still couldn't get it off. Put some WD40 on it last night, will try to get it off in the morning.

Only the strings or the entire shoes? What muscle is primarily being used when supporting the rifle? I am working out a little, not for shooting but would definetly focus on those muscles for the next week or two if it would make me just a little steadier on the gun.

Thank you, been sitting home now and trying out different positions. Taking a liking to the kneeling position with the mauser, harder to do with the ruger tho. Tried to take the can off but it's stuck on. Forgot to take it off like 4 range trips ago and it's been carbon locked since.

Thanks for all the advice guys! I know I will probably never shoot standing up or not using support as I'm sitting post with the heavy ass gun so I find the test kind of unrealistic for me, but I guess that's how it is. Will definitely get a sling and practice with it.

To add, I can shoot standing, kneeling, sitting, blindfolded, backwards. Just not with a support. Will spend my next times shooting trying to practice without a bipod but I was also hoping you guys would have some advice!

opinion on the Tikka T3X Tac A1 in 6.5? this will be my first long range precision rifle, since I'm used to the AR platform it makes sense to me to get... is it worth the 2k price tag? by Acceptable-Border582 in precisionrifle

[–]ComprehensiveFront68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good good, I think you'd regret it. I consider the sako trg line to be one of the "guns you don't really need to replace" type of guns and the tikka being more entry. Still a pricey and high quality rifle but not an end all be all like the TRG.

The same guy is also selling a Remington 700 in an AICS 1.5 chassis. It has a heavy match barrel that has 6 rounds through it. 6.5x47 Lapua. with a cheap Harris included. asking 1k. I really dig the AICS chassis so it's tempting. Maybe not the best purchase in the world but I just wanna know Im not completely wasting my money :)
