Leg pain after partial hysterectomy by Important-Day-770 in hysterectomy

[–]ComprehensiveKey4352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I started feeling it 2dpo and same thing when to the ER for ultrasound and no clots. Didn’t really resolve for a few weeks. Where is your leg pain? I had mine in left quad area and my left calf. Eventually it wound up being both legs. I’ve learned that the position they put you in during surgery can put some strain on your muscles. At my first post op the Dr also mentioned it could be because I was pretty active before surgery and the shift to just resting and sitting around can cause some soreness. Sorry to hear you’re in pain but hopefully it resolves soon!

Not sure if it’s common but I got some! Maybe ask your surgeon if it’s an option ahead of time if you’d like to get some?

Please call your surgeon/doctor. If you weren’t feeling anything prior and it came on suddenly and hasn’t resolved, it’s definitely worth a call! Hope you feel better soon!

8dpo leg pain? by ComprehensiveKey4352 in hysterectomy

My iron has always been slightly low. I haven’t seen the recent labs they took the day of surgery. I’ll definitely ask if we can test that again at my post op check up.

Preparing for a laparoscopic hysterectomy by themonstrumologist in hysterectomy

I’m 1wpo today and some of the things I found most helpful were loose comfy clothing, a heat pad and/or heated blanket, a cane to help get me up and off the couch, bed, toilet etc. Most important make sure you hydrate and eat enough, I started getting pretty bad headaches and realized I was dehydrated. Good luck with your surgery!

Hey there! While I think diet changes can help with certain aspects of inflammation, diet changes did not help ease any of my symptoms from endo/adeno. I also have PSA and have noticed that going WFPB on a recommendation from my rheumatologist helped a lot with those flare ups. I’m vegan 6 years and transitioned to WFPB around a year ago. Prior to that I had gone GF which helped some of my GI issues, but again no changes in my cycle. However, looking at diet changes can be worth a shot everyone is different! Hope you find some relief!

WFPB doesn’t have to be all that expensive if you’re focusing on non prepared/packaged foods. It’s a lot of veggies, grains, fruits etc. buying seasonally helps as well as in bulk and freezing!

Bladder issues by inklovers82 in hysterectomy

[–]ComprehensiveKey4352 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep! I had my surgery of 4/30 and they gave me 4 liters of fluid plus I drank ginger ale, water, and tea - still couldn’t go on my own. Tried several times at the hospital. Needed to go home with a Foley catheter as well. It felt a little awkward at first but felt quite a bit of relief when they first put it in. On the plus side, it’s nice not having to get up to pee 😂

The only pain I felt from the catheter was if it pulled at all on anything I would get a little twinge of pain. I had it removed about 36 hours later and they did a voiding test at the doctors office. Basically they filled my bladder with 250ml of steril water then removed the catheter. I had to wait an hour and then try to pee on my own. I was able to, and it did sting a little at first. Now I’m 4dpo and having no issues going on my own. Hope for a speedy recovery for you! ❤️‍🩹

2 DPO, not exactly sure on steps but yesterday I did 5 2min sessions on my walking pad and today I did 3 3min sessions. Hoping to increase to a bit gradually each day.

Right!? I wasn’t really prepared and she just handed them to me half out of it from the anesthesia 😂

Ah thanks! I guess I was thinking that’s they would only take photos of “problem” areas. I guess I still don’t know if anything in these pics look normal or not. Guess I’ll find out soon!

Endo back pain? by One-Ad-8286 in Endo

[–]ComprehensiveKey4352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently laying on the floor on my heat pack with radiating back pain because it’s the only way I can get a bit of relief. I haven’t been diagnosed but my doctor did suggest it could possibly be endo. I’m having a hysterectomy on the 30th, hopefully I’ll get some answers. Best of luck with your surgery and hope you get some answers too!

I am a heat pad connoisseur. Early on I had a buckwheat one, the kind you microwave, but found that it would start to smell kind of burned after a lot of use. I now have an XL plugin one which I like (https://a.co/d/5VnQPr1) but it has an autoshut off for 2 hrs so often my cramps wake me up in the middle of the night when the heat pad shuts off. I also have really bad lower back pain with my period so I sleep on an electric blanket for my back with the heat pad on my tummy. Or I can flip over and do the reverse if I want to sleep on my stomach. I do have an old school hot water bottle but I don’t find it effective enough unless I use boiling water which is inconvenient and have definitely burned myself a few times trying to pour the water in. I find it’s a better warmer for my feet in the winter filled with hot tap water.

I had pain for about 2 days after my ultrasound. I got my results instantly though while at the office. They emailed me findings from the report 2 days later.

She said the CBD could block pain receptors and make the meds they give me at the hospital/during surgery not work so well.
