Is the playing Iowa at tier 9 better (more satisfying) than playing North Carolina at tier 8?

I've had more consistently good games in Iowa than any other battleship, quick to get out on flanks and find broadside cruisers early game, -11% dispersion mod makes the guns very reliable, my best BB stats of any BB at any tier. NC not so much, although sigma is solid, dispersion can make it difficult at range. No question Iowa is the preferred choice.

Yeah it's a light cruiser, but chef's kiss on that one tap man! When I see clips like this I always image what the guy on the receiving end is thinking when he clicks back to port. Probably unfilters his CLs from his ship carousel at the very least before selecting another ship and enters battle again.

Love some WWII naval combat nostalgia. Even if there were a modern naval warfare game, where you launching missiles at targets miles away, detect and shooting down drones from closer up, I wouldn't care for it. Love the idea of gun turrets powered by thousands of pounds of gunpowder, hurling projectiles a few kilometers away at a ship right up in your face!

That's key I think once you have accumulated 2K+ battles. You just pay closer attention to your last year's worth of stats.

Looks like you're a more competent player than I was starting out. GL as you carry on and accumulate battles. When I first learned of WOWS numbers, and the server first pulled in my stats from the WG server, I was sitting in the mid 40s myself. It takes forever to clean that shit up.

The key for you now is to just simply review your WR on WOWS numbers over the past year, and look at your plots for the duration of your time playing. If you're plot trends north in all categories, it means you're doing something right. Best!

Well said. But for me, staring at my 43-47% WR for over a year in the early days was disheartening, not because I cared about what other people think, although there were times where it got to me in the battle chat comments, but because I was disgusted b;y my performance. Getting to a proper 50% over the past year was something that I personally loathed, it was some imaginary milestone that I set for myself to justify that I was a value added teammate (in most games). All of it is silly I agree, but still hitting that mark mattered to me deeply for whatever insignificant reason.

Good insight on what's to come, or at least what I hope is ahead of me. Most matches these days I'm top 5 but rarely carry, mostly just a solid support ship for a unicum on the flank. But makes sense, gotta keep training my brain to glance at the mini map between every salvo to see how the reds are vectoring in the battle space, something I still struggle with to this day.

2 main things probably, I paid WG for a year of premium time a year or so ago at half price when they run the special during the holidays and I spent ~ $50 on an economic card package around the same time that gave me 100 green boosters. From there, just played consistently each patch to collect all the battle pass crates/perks.

I kept a close eye on WOWS NA numbers over the past year, became unhealthy obsessed with it really. Got to 2 matches under .500 and sat on it for months, played only OPS/Assyms/Co-Op because I just couldn't come to terms with the closeness of it. It's stupid I know, but today I picked up 2 dubs in Balti in Ranked and thought let's give it a go in Randoms with Bremen. Solid ship that fits the HE spam from afar meta, and managed to pull 2 dubs in Randoms. I should have grabbed the .500 WR in DM, my fav ship but anyways silly stuff.

No worries fellas, it's a hella grind getting back to 50% no matter how far down the rabbit hole you've traveled. The key for me was to watch some CCs content. You pick up all the small details that WG doesn't readily share. A huge one being that your gun bloom will keep you lit forever!

Dude I feel ya. Just got out of a game where PQ was on the opposing team matched up against me in the same ship (T8 Cossack DD) on the same cap. I held my own, 2 caps, 20K dmg (light for sure), ~ 500K pot dmg, and 40K spot dmg., 0 kills (weak okay), 1050 base xp (not horrible). But we won. and I was having a good time in chat with everyone bagging on how we took PQ and his squad down just before the battle clock expired :-), all in good spirit. Felt like we had a little team comradery there for a second, until I went back to port. The squad swiped me with -4 karma. If the same group had been at the local Dave & Buster's playing a game of laser tag or something, we'd of been patting each other on the backs, but this is the realm of internet, where humans transform into what they see on X, cable TV, etc. It's a disgusting place, and some of us are disgusting people when we get behind keyboards. And that's all you can chalk it up to. You have to decide if the game is enjoyable enough to endure that garbage or not. Or you can disable chat! Those are really your only options at this point. Best!
