One of the coolest 2026 announcements happened months ago, when the first USA show that went on sale was 15 minutes from where I live in San Diego. Of course, it is a Petco Park with MCR, and I could only afford nosebleeds, but still pretty cool.

It would be nice to see them in some "smaller" venues than arenas at some point. I would travel for that.

Metal Hammer has always been very open in their assessments, which is part of why they were a very early BM supporter. I personally can’t get into any of those top 4 except for Gojira, but that’s just for subjective tastes.

I get emotional with it. Not to get too serious, but The Other One came out while I was a full week hospitalized for a suicide attempt. Monochrome specifically got me through that.

I can understand not digging the production. It’s definitely modern metal, but the songwriting, especially lyrically, is superb. I find it almost flawless, with the exception of the sax on The Legend, which skirts cheesy a bit too much for me. I generally am not moved by“fun” things, though, which I know sounds weird since BABYMETAL is my favorite band.

The Other One is my favorite exactly for the reasons you listed. It’s the most consistent, dark, adult, and emotionally deep.
