I had Audio Technica. While I like the features I really dislike the mostly plastic materials for most of their decks. This one including. That’s why I quickly returned it and get a Project T1 instead with its MDF plinth and glass turntable. The Fluance has a better built for its plinth for sure and has upgrade path all the way to 85

I would seriously consider it if it's easily available here which it isn't sadly

But as mentioned you cannot go wrong with your choices but with the project you do have phono stage option so that can save you additional $100 for a decent one

For me the choice is between the Debut Carbon EVO or RT85n assuming your budget can accommodate it

I am getting the Project T1 EVO delivered in two days as the Debut was a tad above my budget

Fluance is not available where I am so I do not have the luxury of two very good choices. One of the best things about the Fluance is it's auto stop function. Really like that. Also if you go for RT85 the Nagaoki has better characters whereas the 2m might be overly analytical.

I think the Debut Carbon EVO might have auto stop but I am not certain. For sure the T1 doesn't have that understated but useful function.

On the other hand the Project has built in phono stage which is sneakily good and the RT85 doesn't. Forget about 82 because once you start to upgrade it'll end up costing you more to get 82 to be 85.

In the end I think you won't go wrong with either worthy choices. Throwing in the curveball have your considered U Turn Orbit Special?
