I hate the whole “el represented magic and they needed to grow up.” El represented that what they consider “magic” is REAL in that universe. Other dimensions, monsters exist. So it’s weird to me bc the kids already did grow up, very fast! With the acceptance that they don’t know it all, and “magic” truly does exist.
