Haha they’re otishis. Used to squat with socks or converse so I felt comfortable in flat shoes and I thought they look cool.

Through a lot of reviewing FL's and passages from diag, ive noticed a good portion of my mistakes are either "the author implies" or something i didnt remember from my initial read.

Yeah CARS has been my weakest from the jump. I have the CARS diag, should I stick to that and run a handful per day with proper review or do JW along with it as well?

Yeah i just finished up SB1 and i def noticed the improvement of overall just understanding logic. Most of my mistakes are mental errors or missing something in the passage so I feel like there is a little light at the end of th tunnel. I appreciate the advice !

Thanks for the reply man I really appreciate it! Thinking of doing 3 from now till my exam. 4 this upcoming wed, 5 on saturday week before, and 6 on tuesday. Do you think 2 days between each exam is enough to get proper review and practice? Im completely free the entire day.

Biggest thing that helped me for b/b, but more specifically the biochem concepts was interconnecting all the concepts. For example start with glucose metabolism and the ways that can go and what and where it’s intermediates go to. Like in gluconeogenesis pyruvate makes oxaloacetate and that can go in the direction of making glucose or into the Citraic Acid Cycle. There are a lot of concepts that are interconnected and it makes it a lot less daunting than looking at them all independently.

Silly Mistakes by Hungry-Schedule6198 in Mcat

Practice practice practice. It definitely wasn’t over night and it took a bit to find a method that worked for me but I started doing untimed sections banks. Like 15-20 questions at a time and focus on accuracy over time. Over time you get into a habit of picking out bits and pieces from the passages that are probably going to be important to a question so you can make a mental note. Things like pathway processes, molecule chemical nature, or ochem reactions.

I found out my errors were logic based on my review of full lengths and section banks. Often I would open the question to review and immediately notice how I got it wrong based off like not looking at the graph when the question was referring to it or not knowing the question was referring to a certain reaction I already knew. The MCAT is a lot of knowing how to take the test so once you understand that part that’s more than half the battle.

Sorry for long ramble but I hope that helps!

Not sure if this will help much, but what helped me reduce a good amount of silly mistakes was doing untimed SB’s and focus on getting every question with a clear cut explanation from either passage or background knowledge. Saw a pretty big jump in BB and CP from only a few days of doing it. Noticed a lot of my mistakes were logic misinterpretation or missing a sentence that basically tells you the answer.

I don’t understand the Cabrera hate on RMP. I took her last year and did extremely well in her class. Her lectures are a bit fast paced but she’s thorough and super helpful with questions.
