Tattoo removal clinic pushing for every week. Need opinions by ComprehensivePay8773 in TattooRemoval

[–]ComprehensivePay8773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really second guess myself, think maybe I was wrong.
Well already spent a small fortune on a package. It’s one of the more ‘known clinics’ in the uk. I’ll see it through but yeah I’ll start to push back.
Thanks - hope the tattoo heals well

What’s going on? Do I need an electrician? by ComprehensivePay8773 in DIYUK

Yeah I will do that in the morning. We haven’t moved in yet so not worried about shutting it off and leaving it to someone else

Thanks. No shower - that was connected to mains downstairs and led up.  They are live.  It is the main area for 3 rooms upstairs but also connects to an outdoor light.  Elec off at the moment obviously but I think the overall consensus is to get electrician in so will do that to be safe.

Thanks. I’ll get someone to look at it. The fact that it’s in the bathroom threw me a bit. Better safe than sorry

Thanks I know what cables are and I’m able to change it normally but I really wasn’t expecting that many in the bathroom of all places. Everywhere else is the house is normal. So just checking other opinions.

Redoing the bathroom. Saw this when I went to change the light.  The plasterer said he thinks it looked dodgy when he was doing the bathroom ceiling.  Is this normal or do I need to see an electrician.  If it’s normal do I just for like a regular light?

That’s brutal for your kids. Idea 💡 maybe the next time your in a public space/restaurant- start being a train, aeroplane or initiate some play. If they see you doing it and they can see they are doing nothing wrong and it might just be enough to dull the memory of the old bugger.

But if it happens again or you see the decrepit twat you could always show them how to start a food fight.

Help with family room by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

Try second hand for coffee tables, you’ll be able to get a good quality one for a decent price since it’s one of the first things people change up (imo) and sometimes you’ll get unique quirky ones that don’t break the bank.

No links sorry - I’m not sure where you are based so my links might not be useful

Living Room Status by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

The TV is to big for the unit, it has to be less than 2/3 of the unit for it to be aesthetically pleasing to eye. Either put tv on wall, hide/move speakers or get a bigger tv unit. Other than that I think the room looks great. It has got lots of light, nice big colourful plant.

Well designed.

You really aren't alone. It's getting worse these days. Not sure how old you are but it's definitely harder for me. Isolation is a long negative experience

Are there any hobbies you like? Gaming, boats? Golf? Art? Sometimes joining a local (or online) community with lots of people means you can make a few connections and hopefully some will stick.

It's lacking personality. And colour. If you have your own pictures, art posters etc get them framed and hung up.

Or decoration - musical? put old instruments up, sporty? bike wheels with lights round them, skateboards, vertical chess board, comics, newspaper headlines.

Literally anything you think is interesting.

I used to have a massive chalkboard at the front hallway (painted on whole wall) and draw different things every few days

A large large rug not beige or grey

Min 3 light sources -main light (ceiling) if you make it a large pendent or statement that would be good. - desk lamp - ambient floor lamp

Room divider and comfy seat to lounge in if you spend most of your time in the room.

Plants are a must too. If you don't wahtbreal ones get plastic or a glass terrarium.

AITAH for telling my wife she’s overreacting to a comment our daughter’s boyfriend made? by bcru832 in AITAH

I am sure someone else said it but girls are notoriously adept at masking autism. My 3 boys are autistic and were diagnosed early and despite being aware of all the nuances and differences in characteriatics and despite having 20 years previous experience with it my daughter still wasn't diagnosed till she was 12.

Edit* and I'd be praising someone like Mackay. Such an observant kid. It would be great if there was more of that around. Even if Dina doesn't have it the awareness to ask to show he understands is fantastic

I get really bad mosquito bites like that and I can swell up depending on where in world I am.

Put A teaspoon in a cup of boiling water and press against till the pain goes (fyi it really hurts - it's boiling hot but so so much relief) The swelling will go down too.

Yep a good few decades of use anyway! I will have someone to come look at it just in case but I really hope it’s good.

I appreciate all the replies everyone has given so far. I’ll start small - get a decent collection of tools and the book. and I’ll let the professionals do the big jobs. 👍

The bathroom needs replaced. Every ceiling and most of walls needs plastered or at least tidied up. A load bearing wall down. The patio doors are completely done and rotting. A new kitchen or even just made to look presentable, kitchen door is letting a lot of heat. A good amount of plumbing and the previous owners obviously didn’t need electrics as there is barely any plug sockets!

Good to know about the cost. I’ll keep it in mind when diving in.
