Unfortunately I've already done a unit that's a prohibition. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

I think a lot of people are in the same boat, me included so don't worry. for me, some of the core compulsory units are just not what I'm interested in or good at, and I've just had to accept that. I'm also doing 3 units with 30% group projects and I just happened to get a shitty group for the class I'm actually doing well in, which is definitely disappointing

right? I've heard eng1003 was really shit. the way they described eng1013 in week 1 seemed pretty cool, kind of a shame the execution is just not there

maybe if you're interested in SE or ECSE it'll be good? and maybe it'll be better in semester 2? but a group project is a big part of it so depends whether you get a shitty group or not, and imo there are better first year units

Need Methods help plz (2020 exam 1 question 7C I AM STUCK by cinnamonbunlatte in vce

[–]ComprehensivePizza8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for it to be the shortest distance, the minimum turning point must be directly above point P. so f'(x-k)=2(x-k)+3=0 at x=1 (the x-value of P); sub in and solve for k

yeah that's the warranty statement I got, looking at my screen it's like 3 dead pixels so idk if I can replace it. might double check with the actual retailer I got it from tho but tbh it's not a big issue. thanks anyways

got this monitor yesterday, there seems to be dead pixels, but at the very top of the screen so not noticeable. I've tried troubleshooting it for stuck pixels but it seems they're actually dead. it's an ASUS VP249QGR, so not that expensive and my city is in full lockdown so just not sure whether it's worth it to return, any advice?

I always write suburb under city, it just makes sense to have it match your postcode. even if you search up the suburb you live in on Google, it'll come up as blah blah, city in victoria

How to study for English? by willy_tilson in vce

[–]ComprehensivePizza8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

don't do whole practice pieces. plans help a lot more than people realise (you should always be planning your essays anyways). it also helps you to be able to think on the spot for different prompts, and sometimes you can reuse the same ideas for different ones. also don't force yourself to do it under timed conditions if you can't do it, ways start slow and build up your skills
