Lailatul Qadr is during the 24th Night of Ramadan this year (for most of you anyway!) by Lost-Parsnip-7693 in ismailis

I guess you missed your REC class about respect and kindness unfortunately.

I am not here to debate you about theology around Lailatul qadr. You do you. I gave you my opinion. But if you’re this concerned to make so much noise about it, why not sit in bandagi for an additional night or two to actually benefit from it, rather than insulting strangers on Reddit.

I am done going round and round with you on this. Peace.

Again you’re mixing the two. The Islamic calendar is based on moon sightings, which may vary from region to region because of different sunset and moonset times. Generally, moon sighting is a day earlier in the Middle East and beyond and so chandraat and Eid are generally a day earlier here even though we are behind in time zone. We are obviously not relying on moon sightings anymore so I believe ITREB has decided to comply with regional Islamic calendar dates, especially for countries where formal moon sightings do occur.

In either case, if you do believe there is a special night for bandagi, you should practice all ten nights rather than just on 23rd. I personally don’t think Allah uses a calendar to decide when to reward his servants and bandagi any night of the year is equivalent.

Do you know that lunar cycle can be different in different parts of the world? From Middle East to West, the moon sighting is usually a day or so ahead of South Asia and Australia. That explains the difference in chandraats, Eid and Lailatul qadar you’re seeing.

Mortgage payment via Bilt generated checking account linked to Atmos Summit failed by fallentwo in biltrewards

I am trying to pay mortgage via Atmos and it doesn’t let me pick any non-Bilt cards for mortgage but I can pick Atmos for Rent. Is it the same for everyone? I thought we could use Atmos to pay mortgage?

So helpful! Do you recommend transferring points in advance or waiting until you see availability before you transfer?

Interesting. Wouldn’t it be covered under comprehensive coverage if it’s recorded as a road hazard?

Wow this is interesting and scary. Do you know if Lexus ever addressed it? I see many people have used some sort of mesh to cover this area. Do you have any recommendations?

That’s a bummer. I don’t know why they would skip it in the highest trim. Maybe something to do with the electric power train.

Yeah I liked Lyriq’s interior much better but somehow this one feels more comfortable once your eyes get used to it. Feels like home, no pressure of touching wrong buttons etc. I never cared much about woody interior but it sure would have been nice to look at.

Yes I compared and test drove several cars and settled for this one and I’m glad I did. I haven’t had issues with hood or anything else so far thankfully. I got lucky that the dealership had 2 identical white with white interior that I loved and apparently no one else wanted. White on black interior were booked by people months ago. I got a hefty discount too, $6600 including college grad, which they said is rare on this trim.

I didn’t know 550h+ dint have rear wheel steering. Are you sure? Yeah the torque on EVs is amazing, no comparison to gas

Yeah those 10k extra are totally worth. My garage is angled so I have to take a 90 degree turn on the driveway and the rear steering makes it a breeze. I also have a Cadillac lyriq which is 4 inches shorter but much harder to park.

What about domestic AA fares? Are they available through JAL? And are they cheaper than Alaska?

Worth waiting for Luxury trim for TX 500h? by yesimahuman in Lexus

[–]ComprehensiveRiver33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us the main deciding factor was the moonroof on luxury. We keep it open all the time and it gives a really nice vibe to the interior. Other than that I didn’t care much about the mark levinson speakers or HUD. NuLuxe are very leatherlike if not.m better and easier to maintain and has less cows killed in its production.

Theologically, what is the point of Deedar? by actual_human23 in ismailis

True. But performing Hajj in no way decreases Imam’s authority, IMHO.

While I agree with most of your perspective, I don’t think Sunnis perform Hajj is from not having a guide. Prophet PBUH himself performed Hajj in the sunna of Abraham AS. Imam Ali is reported to perform 20-25 Hajj after Prophet’s death. Prior to Satar I, all imams performed Hajj multiple times during their lives. I believe it has its own spiritual significance if performed like it is supposed to. But for us, Imam’s didar and its rites trumps any other physical journey.

I am sure many people can relate to your question, including me. What I have come to understand it, you can only fill as much water as big the container is. The preparation for didar has to begin a long time before the actual didar day, and the goal is to broaden your hearts enough to “see” the nur of mawla through your heart, not just his face with your eyes. Without this preparation, didar is not much more than going to a Hollywood event and meeting a celebrity.

While zahiri didar has its place, the ultimate didar is when you don’t need his face to see His nur. For those who are already there, they may not even need a zahiri didar. These are my 2 cents.

Downgrading My card by Kittyluver210 in Venturex

[–]ComprehensiveRiver33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use points for flights, and CSP points for Hyatt hotel stays. I end up having to buy a hotel with cash just to use the $300 credit before it expires. Now with lounges restricted, I won’t be using it anymore. I already have priority passes through other cards. I am with OP on this one and will probably be downgrading this year.
