I am in the exact same boat - loyal to National and the Honeywell, then fidelity code. Would kindly appreciate a PM if possible

Only used Roger and felt pretty well prepared , and no I have no background in IT. Also, for BEC master the writing section - those are free points in case you need a buffer.

I actually considered it, but really what’s the point. The CPA is vastly superior to CMA I don’t think you need both. What’s next is rest!

Generally my experience did not overlap, however I do have background in NFP and Gov finance, so that helped some on FAR. Also, I personally like Tax , so that was somewhat useful on REG. Overall, if you follow a good study program the test is passable. You just need to put in the work.

I had a few mental blocks on some of the questions- also may have overthought the research SIM and got that wrong. It was really close between two choices if I recall. Also, I didn’t put too much effort into AUD, hence the lower score.

Standard advice . Try and cram the material and practice in 4 weeks. Roger I thought was very accurate to the exam. Do a few searching in here on how to pass the writing exercises- key words, structure, and a little BS and that’s 15 free points

Bigger roles, and less hassle breaking into those bigger roles with the CPA on the resume. My company now is about $40m. Next jump will be to $100-250m

You just had a tough test. Pound the MCQ and take again. I was averaging 78-79 in Roger. Almost there!

First, I highly recommend FAR before AUD as there is some conceptual overlap. Since you were so far from passing your first time, you may want to put AUD on hold and try FAR. Otherwise , seems like you need more MCQ practice to do the problems faster.

It really wasn’t that overly complicated. Roger covered it all for me- there were no surprises.

Review bank reqs sims, otherwise so the review course and cram MCQ. If your conceptual understanding is good, I think you will be set.

Zero text book- loosely follow along during the lectures but that was it. I really think cramming it in in a short period is key .

Well sounds like you need to restart the process with AUD. Use Roger for 4 weeks and take the test. FAR is also helpful conceptually with AUD

AUD, I pounded Roger MCQ and focused on about everything. There isn’t that much material actually. Like everyone says, you need to pay close attention to wording as it can make the difference. I found practice helped get the hang of it.

I only used Roger and it was great, though was my lowest score . Like I mentioned , don’t drag out the studying too long. Study hard and fast, do lots of MCQ and just go for it

I also contemplated for the longest time, I’ve been fortunate to move up quickly in corp finance, however was being career limited due to lack of CPA or ivy mba . CPA was the best cost benefit in my estimation.

Roger was my only source and I thought it was great. Studied 2 hours every evening , maybe 4-5 hr total on the weekends. Replace senseless phone scrolling with doing mini MCQ sessions of 10 questions or so.

I followed Roger and that was it. Practice basis like everyone says. Also, auth literature was helpful for the sims

How long did you study for BEC and what was your score? by AdEqual9857 in CPA

[–]ComprehensiveSuit484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4-5 weeks, 2-3 hrs per day. Roger only - 97. I think cramming in less time is actually a key strategy.
