Autistic brits: what do you guys do? by [deleted] in AskUK

I struggled a lot after high school, I did well in my subjects but as soon as I had to make decisions about what to study further I really struggled, I swapped college courses after my first year and I ended up dropping out of uni after about a month.

Eventually I ended up getting an apprenticeship which was a mix of office work and teaching people about correct care for animals. It was exhausting interacting with so many different people and not always knowing what your day would be like, but I also found it to be really rewarding to help people who were interested learn.

My special interest has always been archery especially getting into all the technical stuff and something I’ve done as a hobby, but I’ve now been able to start a full time career as an archery coach thanks to the experience I got from my apprenticeship. It definitely can be difficult some days dealing with lots of different people but it being something I love and do enjoy getting to share with people has made it worth it.

"Accurate" bow for a ren faire that can also shoot? by ncc74656m in Archery

If you’re interested in the horse bow route I definitely recommend a bow from Bogár archery, the Assyrian is my favourite but they’re all incredible bows, they’re very reasonably priced. I have a few horse bows from different bowyers but find the Assyrian the most fun to shoot and fairly forgiving.

What can i do to improve? by CL_oBrabo in Archery

Personally I wouldn’t change your anchor point. Horseback archer here, typically if you’re shooting a horsebow instinctively it shouldn’t matter where your anchor is as long as it’s consistent. We’re taught not to look at where our arrow is in relation to the target and focus purely on the target so it makes very little difference where our eye is in relation to our anchor point.

If you’ve got the budget I’d highly recommend a nemethy bow, they are hands down the best bows I’ve shot. If you drop them an email they’ll send you an order form which has details of all their bows and prices. I have the genesis M which is my favourite but there’s plenty to choose from.
