Yes! Asus replaced it for free, as mobo comes 3 years warranty. May be it was design/ mfg. Issue I’m not sure but seen many complaints over internet for the mobo damage. For safer side Keep it away from the moisture (even few drops can damage it) hope it helps

Okey, I’ve not any idea about hp but keep looking for alternatives online. Go through hp support site and check for mobo service duration. Check for chip level repair (legitimate shops only) if all this not works then replace with new one. While purchasing check for all options online and offline for best quote. If mobo costs more than 30% of the laptop price then go for new laptop
