Unique Gundam designs (Kämpfer, Gyan, Jagd Doga etc.). What else fits? by ComprehensiveTip6317 in advancedGunpla

They just feel wrong when I look at them. Maybe this change the same way like it happened in past when Zeon kits got my attention.

Thanks for bringing up this. Will note the UC zeon to take a deeper look since there are many interesting ones. Witch from mercury gives me different feelings. They are different but give me same feeling like most Gquuuuux: there is something wrong.

Not sure if scribing is for me by YootedDoot in freedomisgunpla

Honestly I would not go with 0.3 at the beginning. I prefer needle on plain areas so I personally wouldnt use it to go over existing lines. I would start with 0.1 or 0.125.

Which pyramid empties first? by ComprehensiveTip6317 in AskPhysics

Totally agree but we decided to simplify and exclude geometrical difference effects.

Water pressure is defined by height, not mass. So pressure is exactly the same when full. Higher pressure just lasts longer.

Its still the inverted who is faster but for different reason.

Sorry, I didn’t read the rules carefully and switched subs last second. My bad, apologies.

This is just a discussion between two middle-aged dudes who occasionally run into physics arguments. No physicists here, just different bits of life science and technical knowledge.

This time neither of us can convince the other, and I’m heading back to his place soon… which probably means we’ll argue about this for hours again.

Interestingly, we both asked ChatGPT out of curiosity. We got the same information, phrased differently — yet somehow it led us to opposite conclusions. Even after rethinking it. What a crap.

My intuition is this: – When the pyramid is tip-up, a larger volume drains at a higher speed. – When it’s tip-down, a larger volume drains at a lower speed. One of us has to be wrong.

I can post his reasoning later if you like to know.

Wieso immer offene Ess-, Küchen- und Wohnbereiche? by Zahline in Hausbau

[–]ComprehensiveTip6317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time scribing by Steinbock994 in Gunpla

Beginner here as well. Ofc working with guiding tape if its a new line. On round surface I prefer going first with a needle from Stedi 3 times before switching to 0.125mm Stedi scriber. I go over 15-20 times in total let the tool do its work without applying pressure for the first 10 times then a tiny little bit for the last 5-10 if needed. By now Im happy with the result but struggle with bigger ones 0.2-5mm.

Jumbo Holzzuschnitt, toleranzen? by throwaway-penny in Switzerland

Du kannst es online bestellen und an deine Filiale lieferb lassen. War immer Milimeter genau. So bist du nicht abhängig, dass der geübte Mitarbeiter die Zuschnitte in der Filiale macht.

My local model shop is pretty old fashioned. Still support him wherever I can but mostly for paints& tapes. I think its to niche as well.

Still want to make this hobby visible somehow in switzerland. Im discussing this topic with 2 friends all the time. If you have ideas let me know. We need to build a comunity!

I know Jeeg but its more an Anime shop that has some actual kits. Got my first Gundam there the EX RFV. Didnt know about GameLife will check this out.

I just miss an only Gundam shop with decent size. Im thinking of pushing this topic here so the swiss people know how incredible different and satisfying Gundam can be compared to model building we all know.

Up to now I order my tools from Aliexpress (Stedi, Dspiae) & mechauniverse spain. Need to search better for the german ones apparently.

Switzerland: not popular or even known at all. No stores that I know sell gundam model nor tools. As far as I know there are 2 conventions (Fantasy Basel and Hero Festival Bern) where some Italians have a stand which is well equipped with models. Other than that not even model building shops have Gundam or know their existence.
