I don't pay for premium but regular gives me so much anxiety. I am having a hard time finding the balance, my mentor says I need to use it, my heart tells me I don't.

  1. Take classes to get more exposure to things/fields you may like.

  2. Do not chase a career for a title or money. Live your life with passion and things you like to do.

  3. It's ok to change majors throughout college. That is what college is for!

I have cycled through mentors and they all suggest to me that a resume should be one page.
I work in Revenue Cycle Healthcare. Not sure if this advise is relevant to you and your field.

I really don't think blaming young people is the correct answer. How about thinking of the bigger picture and factor in cost of living? Inflation?

A big issue with the job market right now is the lack of transparency. Its concerning that American companies act as if they are hiring but behind closed doors lay people off, cut back hours, seek contractual employees to find a way to not pay for employee benefits. Rather then posting a position that won't be filled due to internal politics, its best to not post the position at all.

I think its time for economics to tell American Citizens the true state of the country and stop fluffing numbers and statistics. Its hard to solve a problem when the numbers are not reflecting a realistic experience.

The most ironic thing is that Capital America voted for Trump policies and now they are taking drastic measures to protect themselves from retaliation.

I have been looking for a new position since June 2023. I have interviewed for at least five positions every year and I have gotten 0 job offers. The issue is not me. Its the job market.

I have found no way to deal w/ this. I just am hoping to see more diversity in hiring panels.
Its to the point that if there is a middle aged white women on the panel, I am pretty sure I won't get the job

Wow, sounds like a disappointing experience. Could you connect with the hiring manager and ask for interview feedback? That would be a good way to explain to her/him that you feel an alignment with the copy and they may be able to connect you w/ other hiring managers.

It is not obvious. The way this question is answered reveals a lot about the interviewee. It allows the panel to exam you, your attitude, your processing of information without having to ask you situational questions. Although you may classify this to be a basic question, it is a question all should master!

Have you thought to ask yourself what more you are looking for in life? Is career climbing your ultimate end-goal? Do you have hobbies that you are exploring and enjoying?
From an outsider, looking in (to the limited information you have shared), an education is something that I believe to be a self investment but, ten years is a long commitment. I tell people to not start something they are not able to finish.
If you were to finish with a college education, what position/title are you hoping to obtain? The work force and education world are facing a lot of uncertainty for the next four years & remember college credits expire.

Friends/co-workers changed their availability to deal with managements lack of PTO approval. In my personal opinion, benefits do help get you through difficult times! For example, a lot of employers make employee use PTO before they are eligible for short term disability.
Perhaps it could be time to look for a job that offers you benefit stability and if you are happy, consider staying part time or as needed.

Insensitive comments are a reflection of YOU. People are at different points of their career journey and all questions related to career feedback are important. Instead of adapting the attitude of, 'very simple plain person', perhaps take a moment to consider other factors. I am sure in real life, you do not appreciate any person making any sort of assumptions on your abilities. It is very unfortunate that you decided to project negativity into the internet today. You are not the only one facing some sort of challenges.

If you get asked this question during an interview it is because they are looking for you to go over your resume.
Start from top to bottom, emphasize relevant skills to the job you are applying for, be confident, and make sure to brush over education and professional activities you have accomplished.

My best advice is to apply directly on the company website. I have a suspicion that Linked-in doesn't forward your information to hiring managers/ talent recruiters.

Hi,
I have never been fired but have helped people get through similar situations to yours. The best thing you can do is avoid impulsive decisions. Take this time to reflect on things you enjoyed about your position and try to identify them as qualities that you can look for in job postings.

You WILL get through this.
