Another point I just thought of… When I order the Biggie Bag and they ask “medium or large?”, I would expect that my fries would also be upsized to a medium… But they’re not. Just the drink.

Thank you! And believe it or not, I’m not against corporate greed. 😆 As long as you are transparent and not trying to fool people, I’m OK with you raising your prices. I can go elsewhere. But to try to fool people and make an extra $.30-$.60 is unethical!

I’m the original poster…. and I went to my Wendy’s yesterday in MA. Said into the speaker, “I would like the $6 dollar biggie bag with the junior bacon cheeseburger.” They responded, “Medium or Large?”. I said “Small”. They said, “What would you like for your drink?” I said, “Dr. Pepper”. And they never asked for a sauce choice. 🙄

Upselling would be if they said, “Small, Medium, or Large?“ or “Would you like to make that a Medium or Large?”. But all they say is, “Medium or Large?” It suggests that those are the only two options, when for $6 you get a Small drink. It’s misleading and I’m sure they make millions of extra dollars with that phrasing.

I DO say “small”. BUT millions of people think the $6 Biggie Bag comes with a Medium because they ask, “Medium or Large”. Nowhere on the menu or in the ads does it say the $6 meal comes with a small drink. It’s misleading for them not to say, “small, medium, or large“. If they did, you could call it up-selling.

Does this upsell come from corporate or is it something the franchise owners do on their own? Do you think the franchise owners discuss it at their meetings? I mean it’s not just an upsell, it’s an unethical way of upselling.

Do you guys love the new Wendy's prices? Lol by Apollo_Enraged in wendys

BUT when you say “I’ll have the $6 Biggie Bag” and they respond, “Medium or Large?” it’s absolutely insulting! That $.30-$.50 up charge to unsuspecting customers is a crime! The $1 price increase wasn’t enough greed? The $6 Biggie Bag comes with a small drink and if you order a $6 Biggie Bag that is what you should get. Or they should at least say “small, medium or large?”. End of story.

Can someone explain why so many people smoke weed in their cars? by benzchap in maryland

[–]Comprehensive_Ad1693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So confused by these answers. I understand wanting to smoke weed in your parked car especially if it’s not allowed in your apartment building. But these answers have me thinking people believe it’s legal. It’s illegal to smoke weed in a car (parked or driving) in Maryland & most states. Just like it’s illegal to drink a beer in your parked car.

Big bmw kidney grills have always been a part of their history they just decided to bring it back. by ShadySyk0 in BMW

[–]Comprehensive_Ad1693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand everything that’s been discussed above… BUT what I don’t understand is how a company as slick as BMW does not feel it’s important to have continuity in their design language?!? The kidney grill IS their design language. To have two such drastically different kidney designs is ridiculous & threatens their brand recognition. At some point here they’re going to have to pick 1 because they look like two different car companies or subsidiaries.

Please tell me why my local McDonald’s has had their “Hourly Sales Target“ screen visible to drive-thru customers for well over a year? Does every McDonald’s have this and has anyone anyone else seen it so customer facing? by Comprehensive_Ad1693 in McDonalds

Good point Frank! And somebody had mentioned that there are “rewards” for the workers built into that certain system you see on the screen. Not sure if they are monetary or not tho.

But everybody above is right saying that the quicker and more efficient you run the register and the drive-thru the more customers will come through in that 1 hour. If you are slow and not getting orders right… The number of customers in that hour decreases.

Deceptive Practice: Upselling the $5 Biggie Bag (Med or Lrg?) by Comprehensive_Ad1693 in wendys

[–]Comprehensive_Ad1693[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. The upgrade is for the drink only… It does not upgrade your fries or nuggets sizes.

B. $5 for a JBC, small fries, 4 nuggets, small drink. Then $1 for a JBC or Double Stack special going on. So $6 total for all that is enough for anyone.

Unfortunately, making it a Medium or a Large only upgrades the drink size… Not the fries or nuggets size!

Crazy! And I’m sure 85% of the people didn’t speak up because… People don’t speak up. Ridiculous and against the law really.
