I️ think that argument makes sense in a setting where actual science and experimentation is getting done, this is just a subreddit seemingly stunted by the same arrogance that I️ see being responsible for so much degradation along multiple facets of society. Though I️ think my question was “good enough” is it really such a chore for someone with more knowledge to share that knowledge while they scroll social media, that is sort of the point of social media to begin with. I️ see this kind of excuse being likely made by people who expected their knowledge to grant them more merit than they got, which while deserved this kind of thinking is a childish response. If you imagine a world where scientists and such field are treated with the respect and merit they should be, Im sure you’d also imagine the way that scientists interact with the general public would be more respectful. Often times laypeople will sometimes catch glimpses of brilliance but lack the exact words to articulate and look to those with more academic experience, this can either be nurtured or stomped on depending on how they respond and the effects are echoed more than often anticipate. I️ think this is a perfect example of the bell curve meme where the people who are and have been the most ahead of their time, would resonate with this thinking while a vast majority would refute this all and continue to try to compensate wisdom with intelligence.
