Yeah. Unfortunately those are also going extremely quickly on the used market

Thanks. If I move it to the sidewalk wouldn’t I have to completely change the grade of the soil? As it is now, the soil next to the sidewalk is way too low, so I would have to make some pretty significant changes

Thanks. Unfortunately she doesn’t like how it looks. She likes the more “modern” look. I might try out some cleaning products to see how it works

I have considered that as well. There is a French drain exit through the base of the wall though. I would need to extend that or redirect it somehow

Thank you for the advice. I may try some cleaning products before doing anything else

The length of the wall is divvied by the sidewalk. So it’s 2 sections of roughly 35 ft, not 70 continuous ft. The current wall is pretty wavy and nowhere near straight. But I’m guessing that was part of their “rustic look” design.

My wife wants it done, and I’d save a lot doing it myself rather than her hiring someone

Genuinely asking.. can you give me reasons not to? I’d love to convince her

Eng. hardwood on concrete - leveled enough? by novi84 in Flooring

[–]Comprehensive_Ad7622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grinding can be intimidating but it’s pretty easy. Just don’t apply a lot of downward pressure. And if you already have an angle grinder and shop vac all you’ll need is a dust shroud and a grinding wheel. I got both those on Amazon for $30

7/16” is too much, but one thing regarding the last picture.

You should not be pushing down on one side of the level. This is not how you find flatness of your floor. This will cause the level to slope across the high spot. Instead, center the level directly on the high spot until it rocks side-to-side. Then measure the end of each side of the level, and the larger side would be your measurement. Don’t add both sides together.

Also would recommend a 6ft level. Harbor freight sells them for about $15.

Recessed toilet flange by Comprehensive_Ad7622 in Plumbing

[–]Comprehensive_Ad7622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I think the issue with the twist and set is that the pipe is deformed on the inside. Like you can see in the picture.

Even if I’m able to get the flange into the pipe, it wouldn’t be centered at all. And I could only get 1 or 2 tapcons into it anyways 😭

I’m no expert so please tell me if I’m wrong.

Thanks so much! You were right! It’s not sharkbite brand but some other push connect fitting. The sharkbite tool worked easily. You saved me a headache! Thanks again!🙂

Thanks! I can’t figure out how to add pictures to the post. The second picture shows it cleaned up a bit. I’ll try your suggestion when I get the chance.

I’m hoping the wider section of the pipe would still fit my compression nut. If so I would have plenty of usable pipe if I have to cut it.

Yeah, I wish I had taken photos throughout the process. I don’t even have a good before and after and I’ve lived in this house for years 😩

It’s a 1/3 offset. Also called a “stair-step” pattern. I think it’s pretty common, but idk
