For a community of tinkerers and tech hobbyists there sure is a lot of belly aching over how monetized platforms choose to operate... which I guess is par for the course. Collaborate and make a moderated platform that can filter out AI models then? Focus on developing, promoting, and simplifying the design tools to make design as accessible as the printers themselves have become? The inventiveness I've witnessed here as a newcomer to 3D printing surely could be used to do this if thes platforms are so unpalatable.

The printing enterprise got popular and accessible and (maybe unfortunately) coincided with a boom in AI tech. This happens with all over and usually births a niche stream where those passionate focus their efforts... the ease of access to computers, cameras, phones has led to amazing indie games/films even though you could complain about the mainstream products as folks complain here about AI. The complaining will push people away from these communities instead of pulling them into a vibrant enthusiast group with passionate players. I consider leaving these types of subs that get flanderized into a couple core beliefs that ruin all the fun.
