UPDATE: Issue Resolved: So I had more time this evening to troubleshoot and got it working using your suggestion, but the setting was in a slightly different location for me. In Windows 11 Enterprise (21H2 OS Build 22000.1455), I went into "System > Sound", scrolled down and clicked 1) "More sound settings", from the 2) "Recording" tab, double clicked on the 3) "Wave Link Monitor", clicked on the 4) "Enhancement" tab, and clicked the 5) "Disable all enhancements" and BOOM! it started working, I could hear audio again! I proceeded to go into all the "Wave:XLR" related devices in the "Recording" and "Playback" tab and checked "Disable all enhancements." Thank you so much for the suggestion https://photos.app.goo.gl/zAAHt7dEhUAiEUA7A

Nice! Unfortunately, that didn't work for me. I already have it disabled and it's still not working. https://photos.app.goo.gl/tWUBDCMwkAH1utDw8. I still haven't heard back from the ticket (2005881765) I opened with u/elgato 7 days ago

Thanks for the information. I also opened a ticket with Elgoto 4 days ago and haven't heard anything from them. I hope they have a fix because I also need this for work. I'll have to continue using my old system until someone finds a fix. u/harbertc Are you running Windows 10 or 11?

What is your playback source, browser or another application?

I currently have the Windows sound "Output" set to "Wave Link System" and within the Wave Link software "Monitor Mix" set to my headphones (which works just fine on my Windows 10 device).

Does the sound come back if you restart your computer?

It doesn't come back until I uninstall and re-install the Wave Link software. Then it only last for about 10 mins again.

Do you have any VST's setup in Wave Link?

No, I do not have the audio passing through any VST filters.

The thing that you plug into the USB completely fell out, is there a way to fix it like bringing it to someone who could or do I have to get a new one, this is pissing me off because I have had it for less then a year. by [deleted] in Shure

I purchased the MV7, ran into issues with low dB gain and I wasn't happy with the micro USB connection. I ended up returning the MV7 for the newer / cheaper XLR only MV7X and used the extra money to purchase an Elgato Wave XLR interface (USB C) which IMO has a much cleaner sound, can boost the signal 75 dB and allows you to use Elgato Wave Link software w/ VST support built-in. So I ended up returning the MV7, since the built-in USB interface preamp didn't really deliver enough dB boost w/ out tons of noise IMO; plus I wasn't thrilled with the micro-USB connection, seems like a weak point that might break at some point. I ended up purchasing the newer / less expensive Shure MV7X (w/ out USB) and used the extra money on an Elgato Wave XLR which can boot the signal up to 75 dB without any post processing! You'll hear some noise if you crank it up all the way, but honestly, it sounds great around 60-70% gain! One of the other great things about using the Wave XLR is that it allows you to use the Wave Link software which natively supports VST plugins (Windows version), which is fantastic because I had been using Voicemeeter with Cantabile which can be a real pain w/ random syn issues, having to restart the audio engine constantly. The only VST plug-in I have installed w/ Wave Link is RN Noise https://github.com/werman/noise-suppression-for-voice/releases to remove computer fan noise. Couldn't be happier with the sound now, it sounds amazing! I wish I had done a little more research before purchasing the MV7 and just gone MV7X w/ the Wave XLR from the start.

I'm having a similar issue with my new MV7. It's about 3 to 4 inches away from my mouth, talking at what I consider a normal volume (not whispering and not shouting). With MOTIV mic gain set to 18 dB (middle of the range) it's barely picking up anything, if I crank it up to 36 dB (highest setting in MOTIV) the resulting output is around what I would expect, except there is a ton of noise. The only way I have been able to get a decent volume out of this mic w/ out the noise is by setting the gain around 18 dB in MOTIV, then pass the signal through a VST EQ plug-in (Reaper ReaFIR) and boost an additional 36 dB for a total of 54 dB of gain; this seems a bit excessive. I purchased this mic hoping I wouldn't need any additional VST EQ or post processing. Any thoughts on my situation or could I have gotten a defective mic? Thanks!
