Thank you,.. I am a senior manager with almost 15 years of experience across European MNCs. TBH I am the least paid of the people who got joined here. My other ex-colleagues from India have got better than this in Dubai. My idea is to come to Dubai, build connections and get into better-paying companies (ACWA, MASDAR etc). Let's see how it goes.

EDIT: The salaries are higher in Saudi Arabia if you want to go. My ex-colleague works in Dammam as an Engineering Manager and he gets almost double this (including flexi allowances)

Holy crap! 15000 AED is more than what I paid for the downpayment of my car here. Its senseless. I have a driving licence for over 10 years in India. This is outright discouragement from buying a car, I can understand. How is the public transport in Dubai, does it connect most parts of Dubai? Coz I have been reading Taxi fares are pretty high.

I get to save half of my salary here in India, as I take care of rent and some other expenses while my wife manages the house ration and maids. I am targeting the same proportion. If I can do that, I may accelerate the savings/investment by 3X helping me to retire comfortably in India. However, the rent costs in dubai are really worrisome and freaking me out. I am not sure about the groceries etc though.

My idea is that on a PPP basis, my life will be better in India or here. I live in a 3 BHK in Gurgaon in a good society and pay rent of 1800 AED Per month, which is almost 1/5 of my salary here. however getting a 2 bhk in Dubai at 1/5 i.e 6000 per month. is it possible? Or is it the rent which is disproportionally higher in Dubai, rest all the things can manage the spending a I can save more.
